Only the Tigers would get into a bidding war with a Reserve Grader…

If he goes to Cowboys, who will that squeeze out thats worth looking at?

agree - buy reserve graders get reserve grade results waste of money

You can't build a team exclusively by signing other people's first-grade players - you couldn't stay under the cap. There are lots of examples of players that were on the outer at a club for one reason or another who went on to be very good elsewhere, so saying all reserve-grade signings are rubbish is patently stupid. Especially when you're talking about someone like Lolohea, who basically everyone acknowledges is a first-grade talent who may be lacking in application. This isn't signing some career reggie who's never sniffed first grade, you know.

Here you go:
- Leilua (unwanted BY THE KNIGHTS for goodness' sake)
- Rapana (out of the game completely, signed via reserve grade)
- Tapau (not being used by the Bulldogs when the Tigers signed him)
- Austin (not being used by the Panthers when the Tigers signed him)
- Cheyse Blair (unwanted by Manly)
- Brenko Lee (not featuring for the Raiders)

This is literally off the top of my head. There must be dozens of them.

…yes and im willing to bet none of the above were offered $500k plus a year to move clubs from reserve grade apart from Austin who was a first grader at the time. big difference

lol… The difference is Blake Ayshford is keeping this bloke out of NRL?!

Ok, straightforward question: do you think Ayshford is more talented than Lolohea?

Of course not… His coach thinks he is a lazy bum, a distraction to team goals and lacks the commitment to succeed at NRL level.

But Ayshford isn't keeping him out of NRL. Tui is a fullback/5/8\. Foran and Tuivasa Sheck are keeping him out of first grade.

As did Rick Stone about Joseph Leilua.

How much do you think the Dragons are paying Paul Vaughan, who was playing reserve grade for the Raiders last year? Do you think they regret this signing?

I know I've coached 0 days in the NRL, but Steve Kearney has hardly shown the world his great coaching prowess at club level either.

wouldn't Lolohea be better off staying in NZ, with Foran going?

The Warriors have confirmed star five-eighth Kieran Foran will leave the club at the end of the season to return to Sydney.

"It has been an incredibly tough decision to make but it has reached the point where I had to make a call and I've done that today," Foran told warriors.kiwi.

"I love it so much here at this club and I have so many people to thank for helping me to get my life and my football career back on track.

"I really wanted to find a way of staying and spending more time here because it's so good being around the boys and the people here. Every day I have a smile on my face when I come to training.

"But, in the end, it came down to my kids and what's best for them. I need to be back in Sydney to be closer to them.

"Before I do there's plenty to do here. I want to finish here as well as I possibly can. We can do something this year and I want to play my part in that."

Warriors managing director Jim Doyle said he could understand Foran's decision.

"Of course, we would have liked Kieran to stay longer and we looked at ways of making that possible," Doyle said.

"I know how much he likes it here and how much he wanted to extend his time but his kids' welfare is paramount. We support him in what he has decided to do and wish him all the best.

"For us, it has been great to see how far he has come getting his life back in order and now being in a position to be able to help the team on the field. He wants to finish the season strongly."

I'd think that certainly hurts our chances, but if it's a matter of the coach not liking his attitude/not rating him then I doubt Foran's exit would change that. After all, he could be playing halves instead of wing in reserve grade if the coach thought he was worth it right?

Article came out today saying Ata Hingano is testing the market. They are probably more focused on keeping him.

So, it's basically down to cowboys or wt for Lolohea. With today's news suggesting cowboys are now favourite

I'm not sure if this has been posted already so sorry if it has.

I wasn't sure who Lolohea was so I searched the highlights and I have to say I'm impressed. Lots of players make a big break and end up being tackled with the ball even when there are players around them. Lolohea seems to make a break and have great awareness about where his team mates are and he positions himself well to get the ball to them.

Warriors have given him authority to negotiate 'they don't want him'.
He wants to be a 5/8 but better suited at fullback. It makes too much sense to sign with the Tigers in this case. Cowboys have Thurston, Morgan, Coote that he will not start in front of. Even if Thurston goes down for the season he is not a halfback neither is Morgan.

He won't get a bench spot on the Cowboys but will start for us. Really comes down to coin Cleary won't budge on his valuations. I respect his way of doing business.

Why would the Cowboys be paying more than Us…

That's my point it makes too much sense to sign with the Tigers I am assuming if the rumours are correct he's going to the Cows it would have to be coin or a property thrown in at below market valuation.

JT was a much better kicker than Cleary and he couldn't do much to improve Moses and Rankin in the kicking department.

He was too busy fixing our defence.

This is a classic forum comment - Moses went from a 60% kicker last season to 80% this season.

Because he's had less chances to miss…

I think the chance to play with Thurston could have something to do with it.

Maybe it's a chance to be mentored by a future immortal

They have lots of TPA's being the only club in North Q, they also get cheap houses due to one of their club directors owns a large building company.
