Tuimoala Lolohea Signs with WT

It wouldn't surprise me if Manly were involved in dodgy real estate deals.
I know it's a bit different from TPA's but don't Penrith have some sort of accommodation for players? with someone preparing meals ect. not a bad way to attract good young players and look after their diets

8 pm NZ time, I don't think there is an announcement coming today. If it is due to Lolohea dragging on negotiations the club should move on. He has not shown enough to make demands, would take Gordon, Nofa Rankin Will Smith Gela Moseby or others as a stop gap fullback for a year

Looks like tigers have secured him. Ball is back with the warriors now as to whether he will be released and if there's any compensation. May take a day or 2\. Fingers crossed. These things are trickier than a normal off contract player signing and need to be approved by the NRL

I don't think we would announce the same day Foran left anyway loses impact in the media. Worth the risk good play.

Haven't heard anything else. Didn't even know Thompson had signed but it's not a real big signing anyway.

I'd expect the packer one to be sorted withing the fortnight though. I'd be surprised if he didn't sign given the extra year. What people don't realise is it isn't 100k a year extra tigers are offering it's almost close to 1 million because of the extra year which should be the deal sealer

So, if he's not coming until 2018 we won't hear for 10 days due to cooling off (on the assumption he signed today?)
If it's a mid-season swap we should hear in the next few days?

Don't think the 10 day COP would really apply here considering he wants to move and the club happy to let him go

Why would you give someone permission to talk to other clubs and then deny a release. If he finds an offer he is interested in he will leave. Unless it's a percentage of contract thing but sounds like we are paying the lot

They might be happy enough to cut him loose for 2018 and were prepared for him to enter talks on that basis but want to keep him for the rest of 2017 as a backup. Or they might just want to try and gauge something out of whatever club signs him for the rest of 2017 as part of the release.

Fair enough. If for next year surely they would say that from the start. Don't think we'd have anyone they'd be interested in taking on. Hopefully an idea in a few days as we seem to be investing a fair amount of time into this one.

Lolohea was contracted to the Warriors until the end of 2018 by NRL rules rival Clubs aren't permitted to enter negotiations with players until Nov 1 the year preceding they are off-contract..unless the have permission from their current Club…

The Warriors will be competing with the Eels for finals positions. Helping the Tigers would have a flow on effect.
