Tuimoala Lolohea Signs with WT

Id be a content man with Lolohea coming on board the bus. It would complete our spine and then its just a matter of adding some forwards and outside backs.

1\. Lolohea
6\. Reynolds
7.brooks
9.mcwillrick&liddle

Id be so happy with the above.

1\. Lolohea
2\. nofo
3\. suli
4\. milne
5\. Mwz
6\. reynolds
7\. brooks.

Alot of firepower and size in that backline.

People have mentioned his height

Patty Mills is only 183cm playing against giants and he still kills it

Its what you can do, no how tall or big you are.

Some players can jump higher than other which negates the need to be tall if they can leap over the shoulder and come down for a try

Seems to be a bit of interest from a few other clubs. I would imagine that will force the price up. Lets hope Cleary has some sway with him. Certainly the type of player we need as we will be lacking in flair with Teddy and Moses gone

I rather Tui over Dugan any day
I know people are batting for Mitchell and some for Edwards on this forum but IMO Tui will offer a bit more than both
IMO he has a better tackle bust ability due to his physique

I would be happy with Lolohea at the WT,we still need some outside backs,MWZ is a good start, but another two or three would be handy.

massive downgrade from tedesco though.

not a big fan of his overall. hope it's no more than a 2 year contract.

The kid has plenty of talent and would be an upgrade, just worry about if he could handle the move to Sydney and being long distance from his family if it happened.

This would be a risk signing IMO

Tuimoala Lolohea could be given an early release from his Warriors contract, but not until next year.

He is signed with the club until the end of the 2019 season and was once regarded as the future for the Warriors in the halves, the 22-year-old is languishing in the reserves, playing on the wing.

It's been a mighty fall from grace for the one-test Kiwi, with the ultimate snub coming for Sunday's game against the Roosters Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad was named ahead of him to play on the wing.

Clearly he doesn't figure in the Warriors future plans and it's believed they're chasing Te Maire Martin, a player Stephen Kearney rated highly when he was with the Kiwis, but has fallen out of favour at the Panthers in recent times.
\
\
\
Martin is signed with the Panthers for next season, so would need the Panthers to give him an early release to return to New Zealand.

There are at least five NRL clubs keen on taking Lolohea straight away and want to play him in the halves and that's where he'll appear for Tonga in next month's test against Samoa.

But the Warriors aren't keen on giving him an immediate release as they don't want to leave themselves unprotected if there's an injury crisis at the club.

That's not good for Lolohea, who's career is going nowhere and the current interest in him may be gone if he has to wait until the end of the season to get an early release.
\
\
\
It's been the Warriors' policy for a few years not to give players an early release from their contracts unless there is a suitable replacement coming in.

They allowed Sam Tomkins to skip the last year of his contract because they could get Roger Tuivasa-Sheck for similar money.

It doesn't always work out as they plan however. Last year they allowed Raymond Faitala-Mariner to go to the Bulldogs in return for Shaun Lane.

Lane was a flop, he played just one game for the Warriors and wasn't offered a new contract, while Faitala-Mariner is a regular in Des Hasler's side.

There has always been that concern at the Warriors that they could be letting a player who could go onto be one of the best in the NRL in Lolohea, but it appears that they're now looking in a different direction.

Why are some club management so grubby?

You're not playing him, he is not in your future plans, let him go.

Tui Lolohea's Warriors career is at the crossroads with five rival NRL clubs looking to sign the out of favour utility.

Wests Tigers and Canberra are eager to sign the versatile 22-year-old with North Queensland, Newcastle and South Sydney also interested in the one test Kiwis international.

Lolohea is contracted to the Warriors until the end of next season but is considering requesting a release after being dropped to reserve grade following the Warriors round four loss to St George Illawarra.

The Tigers have already snared Warriors prop Ben Matulino and now want to lure Lolohea midseason in a move that would allow the club to release playmaker Mitchell Moses to Parramatta.

The talented youngster has played 52 games since debuting in 2014 and has played every position in the backline but wants to find a permanent home at either five-eighth or fullback.

The joint venture club are eager for Lolohea to play the rest of the season alongside halfback Luke Brooks before using him in the No1 jersey next year as a replacement for departing fullback James Tedesco.
\
\
Lolohea does not want to leave the Warriors but is unhappy playing on the wing in the second tier Intrust Super Premiership.

A move for Lolohea could suit both parties as his departure could free up considerable room under the salary cap for the Warriors with his salary set to climb towards $300,000 next season.

"At this point in time the only thing I can say is Tui is still a Warriors until the end 2018," said Lolohea's manager Stan Martin.

"But if things change and he wants to move and the club are prepared to let him go then I think there will be an avalanche of offers from other clubs.

"Five clubs that have contacted me wanting to know what his status is because he's playing reserves."
