Tuimoala Lolohea Signs with WT

Unfortunately I think we've confirmed that Idris' best days are well and truly behind him. At most he's a bench utility, but I'd say he's probably going to finish up his time in the NRL in the ISP. He should try and get a contract in the ESL

I just dont see it with tui. He is currently on the wing in reggies and we are offering 2.5m over 4yrs ?. That scares me!!!

The games that I've seen he's been okay but have to agree that he hasn't looked like a player who's worth that amount
these 4 yr contracts worry me too, as they are a recipe for disaster if things don't turn out as expected.
This is getting a bit like a Monoply game . Despite the rush of signings, we have only Reynolds that you could class as a top shelf signing, and he is a player that is only ever one play away from a
Major disaster. Cleary must think he can get the rubbish out of his game, I hope he's right.

Just because the Dogs supporters like him is not a great reason to think he's worth having,
In fact , it's a compelling reason to run like Hell away from him

Ive come to realise some supporters will always find the negative in everything the club does. How many tigers supporters are upset moses is going? You could count them on one hand. How many doggies supporters are upset reynolds is leaving?? I would say the majority. The best thing the club did was sign cleary. He is going to clean the place out of the deadwood and divas and get players who have heart and play tough. Mautilino is not a good player? Mcqueen is not a good player? I think some posters on here need to get of the negative bus and join ivans real tiger bus.

I completely agree! Did we just become best friends?

What i said was "from the games ive seen hes been okay', thats my opinion maybe not yours, im just going on what i saw. he may have been better in other games, i dont know .
but hes had a few starts in F\G, And hasnt been able to make a big impression,so far.
My point is that paying big money to a relative unknown quantity, especially over four years is a risk.
RE Moses: i was saying after Broses came into the team, that it was plain stupid to bring two rookies into the halves at the same time , [especially two that couldnt defend], and that the club was going to regret it. I also pointed out that they werent first grade standard Imo , and that they did not seem to play well together,
I am overjoyed that Moses is leaving the club, as I think his head is bigger than his ability and have said repeatedly that i would love to see Brooks play without Moses
I havent jumped on the Dump Moses bandwagon in hindsight , as some have done here, I was howled down for my opinion, ironically, by some who have now formed the same opinion.

I have said that the club has at last done the right thing and gotten rid of barrel bottom Coaches and signed Cleary and think that he will be great for the club

Matulino has been extremely good for the warriors, but has had some injury problems, and im hoping that there is no hangover from him.
In my last post I did forget about him
and imo he is the best signing that we have for 2018 so far, providing hes free of injury.

Im not getting excited about Mcqueen , as he no longer Soo standard, and while hes better than most of the present players that we have in his position. I still dont think hes worth the money we spent on him.

RE Reynolds: He has been erratic ever since hes come into 1st Grade, once again Imo.
Ive never liked his brain explosions. if he proves me wrong, Il be happy to admit it, but im not going to change my mind about him just because some Dogs supporters think hes great, its hardly a great recommendation coming some of the Ferals that they have there.
Call me negative if you like , but Im not going to wet my pants over a couple of our signings before they've even arrived here.
Im happy to see how they go , and hope that Cleary can calm Reynolds down and get him to concentrate .

Its just my opinion, whether its negative or not.

Idris if retained would be used in a similar vein to tony Williams. Too slow for centre. Cleary was the coach that let him go from Penrith? Can't remember

Idris was playing in the centers when he got injured and left the Panthers. Cleary didn't have anything to do with him leaving.

Idris to prop? Big unit. Doesn't really need speed. Would get his hands on the ball a lot more than now. Pie in the sky from me really

That's the best call since Corey Payne at Prop…thanks for the lol's...

What about Danny Galea at prop?

That was when Sheens should have been sacked, he had lost the plot then

I dont understand why so many would be against Tui in the FB role…

I wouldnt let him control a game at 6 as he would be Moses Mk2, but having his ball touches metered by Brooks, I dont know how to put it into words

Teddy is irreplacable. Teddy is also consistant. But Lolohea can rip apart the game like Benji and Shaun Johnston on his day, the likes Teddy can only dream of. Tedescos strengths are a powerful scramble post contact and speed, they are very different players, but if you pass on Tui as a fullback you obviosly havent seen him if full flight. Teddys defence stats arent the best, so its a moot point arguing on that front.

If he cannot focus there is always the wing, but it honestly a waste of the kids talent.

I hope we build a squad where we dont rely so heavily on our fullback anyway.

When you say "rip apart the game" teddy has been doing that for the past 2 years by himself and from what ive seen from tui he hasnt ripped apart any games in his career so far, he does his job but i havent seen anything from him to suggest otherwise. In saying that id love to have him at the tigers, just dont expect too much. Tedesco is lolohea x5

at 5 x the $
Besides that he doesn't want to play with us so we have to find an alternative

Are we after both Kahu and hopp?

I think the WTs are playing moneyball. Plenty of offers out there at the moment. All depends on price and attitude. In Ivan we trust. He has a large bit of the cap to fill.

Where did this Kahu rumour come from? I've seen articles over the past month saying Kahu was staying put at the Broncs.

How ironic, after the Teddy backflip rumour, Tacky asking where the Kahu rumour came from… :roll

Lolo best footy is at fullback. He won't be Tedesco but he doesn't have to be. I believe that deal will be done. If tigers also get Hopoate and Milne then the back line will be set.

Indeed it would be, best case scenario of course. Not sure if Cleary is a fan of Jamal, but you can't fault his attitude this season and I think he would be worth persisting with as a backrow option. The bloke knows how to hit and he certainly has enough pace to play in the forwards. You'd only throw him in the centres as a stop gap solution in the event of an injury.

I've become ultra-aware of rumours since I found out how easy it is to start them.

Judging by this article - looks like he wants a change and to get out of his comfort zone https://t.co/u2Gn293AiN
Also in nz Herald article states he'll meet with Ivan this week.

Tedesco is also Lolohea's salary x5, though.

IMO hes worth that money

Lol yes the Kahu rumour… about that.

I actually think Teddy has lost a bit of pace. Run down a few times last year unexpectedly.

He's good over 40-50 metres, but I think you're right, his pace over longer distances doesn't seem to be as strong as it was a couple of years ago. It could come down to training as well as most clubs don't focus on 100m sprints, rather 40-50m sprints.
