Tukimihia Simpkins #248

I must be missing something as he looks glacial to me.

I'm not writing him off, he's just not ready for top grade and is a long way off the pace. Hopefully he'll get up to speed and be a positive - but I'm not seeing it on the past two weeks.

I just don't know about Tuki. To me he is not a backrower. Does not look mobile enough and while hes 19, I don't see how mobility really increases with age? I think if he is to make it he may have to the front row as don't see him as athletic enough to be an effective 2nd rower.

He seems to lumber up to the line and hits it with little force (he fits right in to be fair). Has a good offload yeah.

I think you’re right, he’s a front rower for sure, but he already has an offload and seems to make good post contact metres. Only 19 so once he grows up he might be very, very good.

Needs time, that's all. Unfortunately our cattle are shot and he's learning the hard way at the moment.

Agree
Way off 1st grade

Will be interested to see how he develops. Only young and a couple of games but he needs to improve.

Looks like another player that dominated through his junior years based on his size, but that does not help when you get into first grade.

Best prospect since Lamar Liolavave

i just dont see much in him, looks so raw and i have not seen too much to get excited about...the only positives are Blore looked good and Stefano is a gun!!!

Have to agree. He is young/inexperienced so maybe that's why he seems to do everything slowly

Wasn’t too bad, but he isn’t upto standard yet - tackling up high, while the other ball player opposition is driving his legs making big meters is a prime example.

Give it sometime.

He is very young and inexperienced coming into a side that is also young. With experience i am sure he will improve. It is very difficult when you dont have much experience in your FG side around you.
I am confident he will be fine in FG in time

I get the experience thing, but experience does not have much to do with "mobility".

I fully get he might miss a tackle or knock the ball on, but to me he does not look like he has the general level of athleticism of the 'average/good' NRL players. Every player may drop a ball or throw a forward pass, but I dunno if natural abilities can be developed as much.

You've got to remember these kids aren't match fit. Hasn't been a NSW cup match for months. They have to try go from nothing to NRL.

For starters he's a lock. Not a second rower. He's got decent ball skills and offloading. He needs to improve on his defence, fitness etc but give him an offseason and more time to learn
