Tukimihia Simpkins signs, Kane Bradley released

Kane’s family moved to Queensland just prior to Christmas, hence the desire for this move from him. As you guys have already said, suits the club too.

Confusion will reign I’m telling you when Simpkin darts from dummy half and put Simpkins over for a TRY...

Good signing

That post is going to upset Russell.

Apart from being highly rated has anyone actually seen him play, he comes in a position we are short in so im guessing he's already in the top 30?

Surely someone will post a youtube montage shortly 🙂

Probably playing Union as well

The next Mark Graham , SBW , Clyde, Lindner and Sironen rolled into one

You can’t fault the recruitment. Hopefully all this potential uncovers a few hidden gems

I'm finding it hard to gauge recruitment, too many unknowns to fairly judge.

I think we’ve done well considering the circumstances. Previous management probably would have Brought Tim mannah out of retirement for a stint and called it a day

Welcome Tuki! Sounds like another piece of savvy business by the club and another prospect with size and potential in the back row to look forward to seeing develop. We are going to have a lot of young guys to watch with earnest this year, exciting!

Big kid. Hope he fills the hype.

We seem to be building a BIG pack at the same time that the NRL rule changes seem to favour smaller guys?

I havnt heard of him, has he played much first grade?

Hartigan is really going chips in on guys who impressed at school boy level isn’t he.

I think that’s a bit of a misconception with the new rules. Melbourne tore teams to shreds through the middle with NAS and Tino last year.

Not to mention what Klemmer and the Saifiti’s did to us both games.

Being big is fine as long as they’re not lazy.... Paulo and papali are both big units and we’re fantastic this season.

Depends on their overall mobility and lateral movement when it comes to the crunch .......

There is a clear strategy. I just think it’s a forced strategy rather than a chosen one because of our constant misses on established talent. Time will tell whether it’s hit or miss.

welcome Tuki. all the reports coming out of NQ were that this kid was going to be a star, so fingers crossed that remains the case. will be interesting to see with the size of his frame whether he remains on an edge of moves into the middle, could potentially be our long term 13. regardless, good to have him on board!

It is. We can't sign elite players in the prime. At least not without offering massive overs. So instead we're doing what the Storm does and are targeting the best 18-19 year olds and build a premiership team from within. It's more sustainable and allows for a balanced squad but in the short term it can take longer for the talent to establish themselves.

The Dogs on the other hand are going for the quick fix with big money contracts to as many big name players they can get their hands on. A couple of injuries or players out of form and they're done. Similar to the Titans of recent years.

All this talk about the rule changes favouring smaller forwards is just assumtions at this stage.Storms big boppers killed it last year and as always big is better.

Seems to have a good head.

That's a consistent theme in our current recruitment. Kids with a good attitude will make it more consistently than those with more talent but poor attitude and work ethic.

Totally agree ....but with any player at this age and stage of career its still only potential

Like if you got 1 out of 5 that play 100 NRL games you'd be over the moon
