Tuqiri is too slow

i thought he would do very well this season - and was stoked when he actually signed on - but like others here didnt expect him to be that good so soon!
i was actually surprised how well he ran from dummy half, and how casually did he take that kick to him in the in goal in the first half?!
he is a big guy who runs straight and hard. how awesome is our backline shaping up?!

After tonight I'm salivating at the thought of Tui and Lote in the same team.

My concern though are Sheens' comments that they would be fighting it out for the left hand position.

Would Lote not go so well on the right if a change had to be made?

Held my breathe as Lote pinned the ears bag and sprinted down the sideline. When Stewart made the tackle, i thought could the gods be so cruel as to inflict injury on Lote, only to see him jump straight up an dplay the ball. I punched the air, and breathed again….

Stewart on the other hand ... wont tackle Lote in full flight again.

If this was a few weeks into the season i reckon Lote would have just power over him, TNT certainly would have.

I would not move Ayshford, he was very impressive, especially defensively.

i was amazed at his pace when we made the first break in the second half, albeit againt matai but he showed a clean pair of heel

he would be the same, but he wouldnt see as much ball on that side thats the problem, but its win/win really but i think tuiaki will be on the right side when he come back from injury, he may not be up to speed enough to keep up with marshal and lawrence until he gets a few games under his belt

Im just so happy that Lote has proved so many people wrong.

Crowd went bananas when he scored in the 4th and same when he sailed down the wing to set our victory up for us.

what makes people think r.ryan will get dropped from 1st grade when tuiaki comes back

my moneys on beau in the 14, sheens used hanbury/mcdonnell on the bench for a season after all…............

My moneys on TnT > bench.

haha uve got to be kidding me the bloke only got off the plane 4 days or so before the game
give him a few weeks and he'll be bak in top form 🙂
i like him on the wing not sure if he should be placed in fullback for abit yet tho,
with benjis and luis vision.. tuqiri will be scoring plenty of trys this year!

He certainly provides that 'wrecking ball' factor while Tuiaki's out…..we'll only be better with both of them in the team. I think the possible combinations are:

1\. Moltzen
2\. Tuiaki
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuqiri

14\. Ryan

1\. Tuqiri
2\. Tuiaki
3\. Moltzen
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan

14\. Ayshford

1\. Tuqiri
2\. Tuiaki
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan
7\. Moltzen

I like him on the wing because Moltz is a great playmaker when he chimes into the backline and I just don't think Tuqiri has the same ball playing ability as Moltzen. Also, out of all this Ayshford has played centre EXTREMELY well both in attack and defensively so I'd hate to see him moved. That's why I reckon Ryan may move to the bench and take Fitzy's spot.

I think the opportunity for the young guys comes from the bench. Cayless and Flanagan weren't effective, Fitzy gets 3 minutes and Moors has some improving to do (although I can see him becoming a decent player).......By the sounds of it, if Fifita keeps going the way he is, he should break through to FG sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed..

Sheens has made it pretty clear that some time down the track he wants to give Lotte a shot at the no1 jumper and he dosnt see Lui having a full season at no7 due to his inexperience and age. That to me all adds up to Lotte at 1 and moltzen at 7, of course unless a winning team makes the coach rethink his plans.
