He's past it.

Yes it's his first game back in a long while, but he played tonight exactly how he played last season. He's slow to turn on D and pulls the handbreak at the line every time. Nothing but a big pillow.

Sorry to be so harsh, he's certainly not the reason we lost tonight. I hope he doesn't go on for another season, unless of course he steps up BIG time.

He's been painfully slow turning on opposition grubbers for 18 months now. Every team knows it.

Other than that he's fine and I thought he played well. The turning on kicks is a big problem though as there's going to be a tonne of them come his way.

I thought he was ok. He was never going to win the race to the ball under those circumstances.

I thought he played well considering he's played next to no football since in the past 18 months. Defence was good, scored a try albeit laid out on a platter by Benji and looked safe under the high ball. His back up to the Everingham try was poor, but that was just a matter of match fitness, or therefore lack of, because of his perpetual injuries.

No way. He played a great game. I was at the the game and could not fault him.

He made one possible mistake when he didn't turn around quickly enough to stop that kick. On that play though I think Ryan was playing fullback. As much as Moltzen is maligned on here maybe Moltzen saves that try.

He played a great game today ,the reason he appeared to be slow to turn was because the defensive plan was to Push up hard .

TBH my comments weren't all drawn from today's game; I've been very critical of him for a while. I'm definitely not the first to be saying this either, there were plenty of threads/comments about it last season.

My biggest problem with him is that he doesn't use his size… he just gives up in a tackle and that frustrates me more than anything. If he ran as hard as Utai he would be deadly.

Considering he has hardly played a game in the last 12 months, I thought he played well today. Didn't seem frightened to take it up either, which can sometimes happen to a player after a couple of bad injuries.

He went okay for his first game back. He is carrying plenty of weight, and needs to regain confidence that his injury is healed. Considering these factors, his best is likely still a couple of months away.

But get used to it, unless injured he will be named each week.

edit - added; Yes, when Everingham scored he was beaten to the ball by a younger winger but there was more to it than that - Benji was marking Taylor and gave him plenty of time to properly grubber kick, and Ryan could have been poistioned better. In the end it was a well executed play and it would be unfair to blame any one individual.
