No problem with two captain's. correct choice I think. Just wonder if this is dropped now to ease in to bad news on Reynolds

How would freeing up 750k that’s dead money be bad news.

I will not be able to cheer Reynolds in a Tiger jersey. Anything getting him out of the club would be good news.

Know all the facts do you or just going off the social media hysteria? Not the thread for this any way

I do not know all the facts obviously. However the facts I do know are sufficient for me to make a judgement on the bloke and form my opinion.

I'd wager you know far less facts and far more hearsay.

We are talking about ***my*** opinion. It is based on what I ***know***. What you think I know is irrelevant to ***my*** opinion.

Actually we are also talking about my opinion. My opinion is that your opinion is based on very little actual fact and many rumours and speculation and bad press. Personally I'm withholding my opinion about JR until the courts sort it out, because I am in possession of a massive lack of factual evidence.

Now what you think I know, about what you know, is irrelevant to my opinion.

No we have never talked about your opinion of me or JR and I wouldnt because I couldnt care less. You were the one who questioned my opinion despite the fact that you have no idea what I have based my opinion on.

My opinion is based on solid facts, not hearsay, things I know to be true, absolutely nothing to do with the DV charges and based on my own experience. I dont give a rats about your opinion of me, or my opinion of JR and I have never cared about your opinion.

How about you stick to your knitting?

Well how about you read it all, especially the bits that show that my opinion has nothing to do with the DV case, leave it there and keep your nose out of my opinion?

I suppose it’s better than having one capitan with a split personality?
I would prefer a captain and a vice captain. If we are still allowed to use that word. Although for some teams that title would need additional explanation.

So, if both are out there, who makes decisions? Who talks to the ref?

Benji makes the decisions when he is on the field. He did this last season without the C next to his name. Hence Mbye was known as the fake Captain.

And that's a major reason why we don't make the finals. It's a shame Brooks isnt able torun the show. The captaincy is a major issue with our team imo.

Sorry I disagree. Benji being the on field Captain is not the reason we didn’t make the finals. The team was unbalanced with a significant portion of the cap sitting on the sidelines or in the lower grades. That looks like, to some extent, to be rectified for 2020. I expect big things this year with Benji being Captain. Brooks does not appear to be Captain material, nor does he need to be to perform. He needs a pack with go forward, and it looks like this year we have such a pack for him to do his magic behind. Benji is the ultimate competitor, he hates losing.

Mbye is a good talker ...
Probably didnt wanna embarrass him by taking the C away from him.

Benji is the real deal captain tho.

I get your thoughts @mike but I reckon Benji is the number one reason why Brooks didn't dominate last year. Benji has never been able to steer a team to victory - not since 05 anyway. I'm with you as far as Brooks not being captain material yet. But whilst ever Benji is in the way he never will be. As exciting as he once was, Benji is probably the most over rated player in league history. He's been bog average since we last made the semis. Captaincy isn't his strong point. The odd freakish play is and they are very, very rare these days.

I'm still unsure as to how Mbye gained the captaincy in the first place. He has openly discussed how he didn't want it but Madge talked him round. I'm glad Marshall is involved, but still believe that Mbye is a poor choice.

Never saw him say that once. Clearly he’s a leader for the boys otherwise a coach like Madge wouldn’t just pick him.

Having played just nine games for Wests Tigers since joining the club midway through the 2018 season, the 25-year-old Mbye said there was some initial reluctance to take on the new role given his young family and his new arrival to the club before a conversation with Maguire helped ease his concerns.

"I do have a pretty full plate with three kids at home so I did think twice about it," Mbye admitted. "I had some deep chats with Madge about it and we worked it out and this is the outcome.''

"I was concerned with the commitments at home — my responsibilities as a father means my family comes first — and I didn't want to devote too much time than what was needed. But the way Madge is controlling things and the strength of the leadership group we have, the time thing wasn't going to be so consuming for me.''

“Didn’t want to devote too much time than what was needed”. Geez don’t go too over and above for us! I’m surprised Madge has persisted with him given his reluctance. Must be missing something..

Yeah that quote shocked me a bit. I get what he’s saying about his family but he’s worded it very clumsily.

Not exactly what you want to hear from your new captain and highest paid player.
