$400k a year is overs for Peachey. He's literally just as good as Mbye and will probably take a bench spot over one of our young players.

So would you rather have a Madden over a Peachey ? Time will tell if its even true but for a guy that can cover Lock, Halves, Centre and 9 with experience its worth a go for 2 years. But that is just my thoughts

Bugger all available, at least it's only for 2 years.

We'll see if a change of scenery makes a difference for him.

It would be a first. Rarely has it ever made a difference for anyone else.

One of the best available off contract players. They had to spend the money somewhere. He offers something we don't have in a ball playing lock. Not sure what recruitment miracles were expected.

Tyrone Peachey is on the move to Wests Tigers next season.

After three seasons with the Gold Coast Titans, Peachey is poised to return to Sydney after agreeing to terms on a two-year-deal with the Tigers.

The Roar understands the deal is worth around $800,000 with an official announcement imminent.

One of the most versatile players in the game, Peachey has been identified by the Tigers as a ball playing lock.

800k a season? Please tell me it's not true

No, I read it as $800k over the 2 seasons. I recall he was originally asking for $400-450k per season.

He wanted $450K and 4 years.
We have got him for $400K and 2 years. (reportedly)
Not too bad at that price.

If that is the case then it is a better deal than what we have been doing in the past.4 years at 450k would be the sort of pension plan we have been offering since the merger especially at his age.It is probably 50k p.a more than i feel he is worth but you have to start somewhere

Might be the difference for Peachy though if you recall he had 2nd thoughts about leaving for the GC cause he wanted to live out west. He could go back and do that now which may mean he's more settled.

The Wests Tigers are on the verge of striking their first blow of the post-season as they edge towards a deal for Gold Coast utility Tyrone Peachey.

Tigers officials on Monday morning confirmed they were in talks with the former NSW player and it is understood the club is in the process of finalising the paperwork for the 30-year-old.

Peachey was on the open market after the Titans opted not to extend his deal at the Gold Coast. The Tigers and Raiders were initially linked with the versatile Peachey and it appears the former have won the day.

The Tigers have around $1.5 million of salary cap space for next season and four spots to fill. Peachey will now occupy one of those spots and provide cover for the halves, centres and back row.

Wests Tigers confirmed that Shane Millard and the club have mutually agreed to part ways in his position as assistant coach, effective immediately.

The Tigers have undergone significant upheaval already in the off-season and the changes at the coaching level continued on Monday morning when the club announced they had parted ways with assistant Shane Millard by mutual agreement.

Millard joined the Tigers as an assistant in 2020 and his departure means the club must now replace both their assistants from last year - Wayne Collins has also left the club.

It is understood the Tigers are in the process of identifying potential members of Michael Maguire’s coaching staff - they have been heavily linked with premiership winner Shane Flanagan and former Featherstone coach Ryan Carr.

Tyrone Peachey is expected to finalise his future over the next week after fielding two-year offers from Wests Tigers and Canberra.

NRL.com understands the former NSW Origin utility is weighing up his options after negotiations with both clubs, culminating in the Tigers drafting up a contract worth around $400,000 a season.

Neither club has made an official comment on the pursuit for Peachey. The Raiders are understood to have discussed a two-year commitment as well with Peachey worth around $50,000 less a year, though their interest is contingent on several other moving pieces in their roster.

I knew they were taking the mickey with this article when they mentioned ball playing lock. Peachey doesn't have a passing game.

Why are we offering more than Raiders? They are literally just spending money because they've got cap room

$400k out of $1.5 million is a LOT. Hope he goes to Canberra

WORST CONTRACT NEGOTIATORS IN THE BUSINESS!!

I guess he is slightly better utility value than Mbye and cheaper

I’m not mad about it, but it doesn’t make me super excited
