Peachey is no better than Mybe so what's the point ?
We're paying Mbye to play at saints so probably not any better off financially either.

He’s significantly better, I don’t even think it’s close. Mbye would probably be a better 1, I’d take peachey at centre, 5/8, lock or hooker

Meh, don't see anything in him.

Im in another camp. I have never seen the hype around him, until this year. This year in every Titans game I watched he looked good, very dangerous.

I've never been a fan of Peachey but this year he was pretty good
Perfect 14 for us

If that’s the role he is signed to carry out. Compare Peachey at $400k to Mbyebat $900k. I know which way I’d go.

But we’re still paying $400k for Mbye, so it’s about the same price overall anyway.

Difference being peachey will actually cost us less games and maybe even win a few

Which games did Mbye cost us?

Really? Which one did he have a go in.
From memory - He left Hoffman high and dry a bunch of times in his debut...
Start with that one if you like?

Mbye turned up... but he never *turned up.*

Left his heart at the bulldogs, his first love.
Fraud.

Just like Jimmy Tamou,
His heart is still with the Panthers.

Need to stop signing this scorn lovers.

I think most people honestly share the same concern about Peachey. But who do we go for, to fill Mbye's spot?
Kepaoa and Doueihi are possibly the only players we have who has covered 1-6.
We also appear to have changed tact in our approach. Nicho Hynes or Connor Watson weren't in our sights and other than CHT from the Warriors, there's really little available. Someone else suggested Will Smith.

Listening to what Brent Read said, are we possibly waiting until Nov in hopes for our utility player?

Everyone is in our sights

No one is looking in our direction ....

I understand we're in no position to pick and choose, but this is what irritates me the most about our whole recruitment. That whilst we're chasing a player and usually in the spotlight from this - laying everything on the line for that one player - we possibly miss out on other players who are much better prospects.
We can never kill two birds with one stone.
Fair enough we may not land them however it would make us look much more professional and measured in our approach, as we'd be targeting players that help build the character and quality of the club/team.
It happens every year, we're never in contention for the best talent and we always seem impromptu or impulsive in our dealings. The perception that we'll always settle for less will never go away until the club can achieve its central role in succesfully selling its vision and assets.

Hope we try and kill two birds with one stone ...the 7 and the 2 ....

Momo is all the things stated here...solid..dependable..genuine NRL player..etc
But hes gotta be one of the luckiest players ever with the teams he has chanced on to..Id go halves in a lotto ticket with him!!
Wld have definitely kept him..very apparent that JTJ and BJ were hit or miss..but we were never going to build a club around him

I wonder what position peachy is been recruited to play? He’s a great 14
But I think with some time invested in him centre could be good fit for him

At a good club he’s a great 14. At a club like ours, he’s a starter.

Peachey at 14 blocks the pathways of Jake Simpkin, why would we want a 30 year old doing that

He'll probably play centre or 13 for us if we sign him. Would be extremely short sighted to have him taking up a spot of a younger player, he's not the difference between us missing and making finals

There's a reason no other clubs have wanted him really either. Had a very average season for titans

It’s a nothing signing. A waste of time and money.

Agreed mate. Find it very difficult to get excited about it, he'll make very little difference for us and probably take the spot of someone better than us

He's lazy and inconsistent. Suits us perfectly

George Clarke is actually a pretty reliable journo, he writes for NRL

Find his work decent compared to most of the rubbish we get

Telegraph article: https://bit.ly/3uA8qlH

The Wests Tigers are on the verge of striking their first blow of the post-season as they edge towards a deal for Gold Coast utility Tyrone Peachey.

Tigers officials on Monday morning confirmed they were in talks with the former NSW player and it is understood the club is in the process of finalising the paperwork for the 30-year-old.

Peachey was on the open market after the Titans opted not to extend his deal at the Gold Coast. The Tigers and Raiders were initially linked with the versatile Peachey and it appears the former have won the day.

The Tigers have around $1.5 million of salary cap space for next season and four spots to fill. Peachey will now occupy one of those spots and provide cover for the halves, centres and back row.

Wests Tigers confirmed that Shane Millard and the club have mutually agreed to part ways in his position as assistant coach, effective immediately.

The Tigers have undergone significant upheaval already in the off-season and the changes at the coaching level continued on Monday morning when the club announced they had parted ways with assistant Shane Millard by mutual agreement.

Millard joined the Tigers as an assistant in 2020 and his departure means the club must now replace both their assistants from last year - Wayne Collins has also left the club.

It is understood the Tigers are in the process of identifying potential members of Michael Maguire’s coaching staff - they have been heavily linked with premiership winner Shane Flanagan and former Featherstone coach Ryan Carr.

This is on Roar, not sure how legit this is, as it's not the WT site?

Tyrone Peachey is on the move to Wests Tigers next season.

After three seasons with the Gold Coast Titans, Peachey is poised to return to Sydney after agreeing to terms on a two-year-deal with the Tigers.

The Roar understands the deal is worth around $800,000 with an official announcement imminent.

One of the most versatile players in the game, Peachey has been identified by the Tigers as a ball playing lock.
