OFFICIAL UFC & MMA Discussion

I've lost some respect for Aldo due to his antics. This is what he tweeted after the fight.

Conor McGregor I'll see you at ‪#‎UFC200‬, your Cinderella fantasy is over. Nowhere to run to now- you're gonna have to give me my rematch, you p*ssy!!

Conor summed it up perfectly in the post fight conference when asked about it. He stated Aldo actions was that of a loser. He had the opportunity to take the fight ahead of Diaz but backed out, even though he (Aldo) said: "Anytime, any place" in prior interviews.

I supported Aldo in the first fight, but if he continues this media circus with a fake persona, that may change in the re-match.

Win, lose or draw, you have to hand it to Conor, he goes out there to kill and puts on entertaining fights.

Connor does bring it but I think he could have beaten Diaz if he wasn't so arrogant. It'll be interesting if he learns from this.

Great to see Auburn boy Big Daddy win the belt. Ive seen him a few times now and this was his best performance. His attributes are toughness, a good right hand and slow but constant pressure. He is not in the league of Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury ( way too slow) but this is nevertheless a great result for Big Daddy

Aldo has no right to call Connor a P*ssy. He knocked Aldo out in 13 seconds and then had the balls to move up 2 weight divisions. He took a chance and that takes balls, it didn't pay off but atleast he took the chance, he's certainly no p*ssy.

Connor has handled himself well after the loss. When you talk a big game and get beat this is exactly the way you should handle yourself. Not the way Rhonda did.

Where does Nate go from here? Surely he deserves a title shot now after defeating the UFC's poster boy. Another fight against Dos Anjos for the LW belt looks like its on the cards. But this would be another bad fight for Nate just like the last time the two faced. Dos Anjos has absolute cannons in his legs, Nates front leg would still be having nightmares from those leg kicks.

Connor to go back down to FW and defend his belt against Aldo. Still think Aldo deserves another shot at the belt, but this is his last chance. Frankie to fight the winner and finally get his title fight.

Frankie is cool, deserves a shot for sure.

Heard UFC200 is going to be a huge card.

It's strange how they have done it but I don't class this a mickey mouse belt at all. He is now the regular WBA heavyweight world champion. He is maybe only 2 fights away from a shot at Fury.

Either your world champ or you're not. It's like calling Djokavic super Wimbledon champion and letting someone else be the "regular" champion.

Don't get me wrong - it's a fantastic achievement and still a belt worth living but I can't call him the WBA world champion when they regard someone else on a higher ranked title.

.

Yep you can label Conor a number of things but p#ssy ain't one of them. His balls exceed his ability making him a courageous and dangerous man.

Aldo fell into a perfectly laid trap of head games and did exactly what MacGregor wanted. If he goes around again he better grow a thick skin because Conor will be brutal leading into the fight.

I laugh at how enthusiastic Rousey has become since Tait now holds the belt. She was talking about retirement and movies when Holm was champ and even said she didn't watch the fight. Get ready for the UFC hype machine to go into overdrive….

Ronda doesn't deserve an immediate title shot…
She should go another fight with Holly.

Ronda is the golden girl though and another loss to Holly will ruin her even further.
I hope the UFC don't fav child her and allow this to happen.

Adlo is a diva, always has been, has pulled out of many fights…. but he will destroy Connor on the feet, and make him look like a child on the ground.

Connors mouth won him the first fight, he turned Aldo into a head hunter, and backed his speed.

Aldo who stays on the outside and kicks Connors legs into oblivion wins 10/10 times.

The Mcgregor train has crashed. It doesnt matter where he goes to fight now, back down and he has Aldo and Edgar, LW Dos Anjos will ragdoll him, he might try Cerrone at LW for a hyped grudge match thinking he has handpicked another easy one like he did with Diaz, but Cerrone will also sub him without a problem..... its all over for Connor. Casual fans bought the hype...

White got straight onto the phone and spoke with her after the fight. She said she wasnt watching and asked what happened and he told her Holm choked unconcious and Tait new champ. Rousey told him I best get back to the gym and he agreed. This was revealed in an interview with Dana after the post match presser.

I'm at the very best a casual fan of the UFC, why wouldn't she look to a rematch with the one who took the title off her?

^Because the girl that took her belt off her gave her an absolute pasting in that fight so I dare say she might be afraid of that happening again.
The girl that now holds the belt she has already beaten twice so probably thinks she has her measure.

Title fight match ups or re-matches have become a joke in the UFC.

Ronda vs Holly is the only option that makes sense, and the winner to get a shot vs Meisha.

Diaz beating Conor also shouldn't give him a title shot in the lightweight division.
Both Khabib Nurmagomedov & Tony Ferguson should be ahead in that race. And RDA beat Diaz just over a year ago.

Aldo is the only special case, as he has dominated the division for 10 years without a loss prior to Conor (which you couldn't actually call that a fight). He has also beaten all the top contenders under him. Edgar can wait a little longer, he will lose to either anyway.

Jones vs Cormier is going to be huge. Cormier thinks he's the real champ lol. Not that I don't believe he can beat Jones, but it's just childish to call yourself the true champ when you lost against the guy who was stripped of his title due to circumstances outside the MMA scene.

Ah OK, cheers.

As I said, it's generous to describe me as a casual fan. Would be funny if the new title holder smacked her out too after thinking she's got her measure.

Rousey is a wrestler who was bigger and stronger than her opponents. Her signature is to take her opponent down and put her in an arm bar which hyper extends the elbow to get submission victories. She lost her belt to Holm who is also a big strong girl because she was trying to prove to the world she is a bad ass fighter not just a wrestler. Problem was Holm is a world champion boxer and kickboxer. This was all during the period Rousey and her hype machine claimed she could take out Flloyd Mayweather standing up lol…Holm schooled her and knocked her out proving the hype was crap and destroyed her image of invincibility that had been manufactured.
If she fought Holm again without going to the ground her career and legacy would die. Tait on the other hand loves the grapple and is more comfortable on the ground than on her feet. Rousey has beaten Tait twice in the past including once in UFC. She is a good chance of beating her again and regaining the belt thus continuing the myth.

Yep I agree with all of this. I'm looking forward to bones returning.

Curious as to what UFC fights people on here rate as the best of all time.
For entertainment and brutality I would put the Diego Sanchez v Gilbert Melendez one up there. Brian Stann v Wanderlai Silva. Many of Robbie Lawler's fights are bloodbaths, apparently his last battle vs Carlos Condit was a great fight as well ( I didn't see it), hopefully the replay will be shown on Fox in the next few months. Mark Hunt vs Bigfoot Silva was a good one as well.

I dont think any of them were good fights….. they were great viewing.

They were all kind of like our game vs the warriors, entertaining to watch, though it was a terrible game if you were to rate it on a footballing level.

Haha, OK. So they've created a farce that they need to protect.
