Saw it was announced the former WWE star the Ultimate Warrior died today

He only received his Hall of Fame recognition on Saturday and was on Monday Night Raw

RIP

Was walking to the Car with his wife and he just collapsed and died.

R.I.P

Seeing him on Raw you would of never imagined that he would be lost this fast, looked fit and healthy.

Unfortunately taking roids for many years will do that , you look great and then you drop dead

Ask Flo Jo

Wouldn't say he looked healthy, the guy was gassed and blowing hard just getting to the ring.

Should of said for his age haha, he is 56, looked pretty healthy for his age.

Ultimate Warrior was a hilarious wrestler and an incredibly bigoted prick of a human being. Nonetheless he leaves behind two young daughters and gave me some entertainment so may you rest in … purgatory.

I dunno man, when I saw the promo I actually thought to myself that he looked very unwell. He did not look comfortable in his skin.

Probably the only wrestler i've straight out disliked due to his off-screen persona. Still sad for his family though, and anyone watching him as they grew up.

So totally eerie. Came back after almost 20 yrs, and literally died the next day. Theres an old saying somewhere that you can't die till you're truly at peace. His last promo, he looked at peace. From what i've read he also mended a lot of broken bridges over WM weekend as well.

another example of why you shouldnt use steroids. 54 i think he was.

i watched WMXXX and thought that when they introduced the class of 2014 the crowd wasnt exactly super pumped for him. all those bitter, vindictive rants he has made over the last several years, including completely bad mouthing a lot of people did him no favours imo, and it felt like the fans werent so ready to forgive and forget.
he seemed quite the egomaniac…

still, i had the same thought about him finally finding inner peace.

Certainly not what I expected when opening the thread, thinking some old player had passed. No idea who the guy is, but I was shocked to read the words Hall of Fame, as that seems a bit over the top, even for an already outrageous form of entertainment.

Really not sure what that has to do with the thread in general.

Flo jo wasnt actually done at any time for drugs/roids in her career true?

True , she was never proven to have taken drugs

But I wish I could find the photos of her from 1987 and then the photos from 1988 and could post them

She had other world class athletes accusing her of drug taking (Joachim Cruz was one I readily remember at the time )

And then you have to ask why retire when you have just hit your peak ??

I'm sorry , but at that level you don't find .51 of a second in 6 months (although they could never prove her run wasn't wind assisted ,some reports had between a 5 metre and 7 metre wind assisted run )

This was a case of steroid abuse for sure. About 70% of wrestlers from the 80's and 90's have passed away from a combination of roids or addiction to prescription drugs. And of that 70%, about 50% have been wrestlers under 40\. People who brush it off as ''oh that fake sport'' have no concept of the toll that it takes on their bodies. They're professional athletes on the road for 300 days a yr, working through injuries. Probably one of the most gruelling professions there is.

They take it as a form of entertainment, the same way you take movies and TV shows. Difference is though, movies and TV shows don't have a stench around them like wrestling does. People never tell you a movie is fake. Its all the same. Entertainment.

Doesn't have a stench? Rampant drug abuse, brain injuries, one wrestler murdering his family before necking himself. They barely live to the age of 60…

No stench at all... 😕

Thats not what i said. The business has been given many black eyes and with good reason, but the legitimacy of the business itself and people calling it fake, then those same people will turn around and enjoy movies gives wrestling a stench even without all the other factors. Take out the drugs, take out the deaths, take out Benoit, cos your average joe six pack doesn't have a clue about those things, they only associate wrestling with being fake. And my argument to that is its no more fake then what you see in a movie, yet people don't go on about how movies are fake.

My strategy is to wait until these people are watching Breaking Bad, or Game of Thrones and then just point out that they're not really drug dealers, and that they're not using real swords.
