Upset victories

To calm my nerves, and give me some gathering hope I'm trying to think of some recent Wests Tigers upset victories. Any additions gratefully accepted:

sorry for the sketchy dates

05 semi vs St George (of course)

vs Bulldogs in 04 at Gosford when we had Scott Prince out and were given no hope

09 vs Manly in the last few rounds of last year (the one point victory I think)

07? vs Melbourne also at Gosford where we lost Benji in the opening minutes

07/08 vs Brisbane at Suncorp. Chris Lawrence's debut.

any more inspired memories please add. Go the Tiges for a big one on Friday

Need we even go past the Round 4 comeback against Canberra in Canberra this season? 22-4 at one stage. The situation was looking quite dire. I remember turning to my mate and saying "Why did we drive down again? Refresh my memory?" And before we knew it, we were on our way back home to the Golden Western Suburbs of Sydney celebrating a 35-22 victory. A repeat victory would be nothing short of EPIC!!!

That was a fantastic second half that day.

Vs Dogs 05 we won 37-36 on Easter Sunday. We were given no chance after a poor showing to the start of the year. God i love an upset win.

i think the game against panthers (rd23) was a pretty big upset…

We were behind 18-0 at one stage in that game too!

We also led by plenty at the end and nearly lost.

Berala Bears Under 10/s 1974 Grand Final…

Minto Cobras Under 18's 1998 Grand Final. Their halfback was sensational! He should never have retired!

Yeah 36-18\. Dogs scored 3 tries in the last 10 minutes. I have it on DVD somehwere.

I dont think theres too many in the last few years which you could classify as "huge upsets". I think for an upset you have to look at games where our side was 1) just alot weaker than them ..or 2) had lots of injuries.

(I.E - The Chris lawrence debut game in Brisbane), The game in Brisbane in 2003-2004 where Heighno crashed over to give us the win 12-10 with about 6 minutes to go.

And any victory which had the backline of Joel Caine, Hassan Saleh, NBQ, Lee Murphy, Jackson Kaufusi as the back 5.

Agree. Should've called it 'come from behind' or something, or 'underdog' victories. Feel there's been a few of them over the last few years. Ouch - what a backline. There was a time when I used to look forward to seeing Robert Miles named as one of our standout backs. Weird to think it was not that long ago when we were the team that 'couldn't score points'.

Marshall was our halfback back then??? must have been one of his first games…

Another Anasta special. The bloke plays like rubbish most of the time and indeed for most of the games against us but he has these 10-15 minute periods where he looks like Bob Fulton, Andrew Johns, and Wally Lewis combined.

1969 Grand Final, when Souths were unbeatable and had one of the greatest teams of all time, their pack was pretty much all international, but the Tigers upset them that day huge underdogs and won 11-2\. Great memories ….....

And noticed the penalties were 13-6 against us. And Darren Senter wasn't even playing….

its a marshall fetaure, but it still summarised that game against the broncos - a MASSIVE upset looking back on it.
