Venom in the nyc

Does anyone no who the young forward is in our NYC ! Watching him last night geez he runs the ball with pace and venom. Would be great to give him a go in 1st grade and show the team how it should be done

Number 22 Soni Paasi, impressive isn't he? First noticed him in that trial against Hull in January - he has Fui Fui Moi Moi written all over him, and how good i it to see a Tigers player with some mongrel?

I've said it before and I will say it again there is a dead set Ellis replacement in Kyle Lovett - this guy is everywhere on the field, at least two hit ups per set, awesome tackler too.

Keep an eye on both.

They all will probably have successful NRL careers ahead of them … unfortunately it will be with other clubs, Sheens has shown over the years he will stick with the current crop of first graders through thick and thin, and if you do get to grab a bench spot, your game time is limited, it's a sad fact most of our promising up and comers will have to move along or be patient for another 3 or 4 years to break into the NRL.

Keep an eye on both.

Not criticising Lovett but I dont want a player to take two hit ups a set. There are five forwards (bar our hooker) who can take a hit up. The workload needs to be shared around more. Part of our problem is that we have players like Heino who do a massive amount of work but not all of it is quality.

Not criticising Lovett but I dont want a player to take two hit ups a set. There are five forwards (bar our hooker) who can take a hit up. The workload needs to be shared around more. He has a calm head and seems to always be in the right place and doesn't shirk the tough stuff.

Won't take long for that aggression and venom to be coached out of him once he gets promoted to the first grade side.

Paasi runs straight and hard, it's great to see. I like the way Lovett plays, very fit, mobile and doesn't take a backward step. He's supposed to be around 100kg at the moment and has the makings of a very good backrower. Pretty sure he qualifies for the NYC again next year, but I won't be surprised if he is added to the fulltime squad for next off-season.

I know Helmesy and my post was mainly a vent at some of the praise players get for high stats without people analysing whether those runs or tackles were effective. It annoys me.
