As mentioned by Potter this morning in a press conference leading into Friday's night's match, he mentioned that Paterson will not be back until sometime in August.

No mention of Gavet sorry.

August ??

Doesn't he only have a finger injury ??

Before the amateur medics come in, Dylan Tyrell (Rabbitohs) also has a finger injury and has been ruled out until the last few rounds of the regular season, so it does happen elsewhere too.

Again the club said he would be right after the bye (as in the bye just gone )

Dylan _Walker._..and his is a thumb, which is a lot more crucial in ball handling than a finger…though Im just a garbo - not a doctor, surgen, physio or faith healer..so I'll leave the diagnoses to the specialists

disagree with both of you'se.

no one here is an NRL expert or a first grade coach yet we all criticise players/coaches

i personally do want to know why it's taking so long for both gavet and patterson since last week they were both fit but were excluded as a "precaution".

did it get worse? or were the diagnosis wrong? you may not be interested in it but many here are

An AFL player (could of been a Swans player ) recently had the top of his finger taken off due to continuing issues with dislocations and he only missed 3 weeks if memory serves

Just the club seems to struggle to get info out sometimes (particularly with injuries and time frames)

There's an update on the site now:

Patterson 3 months
Gavet "back to the drawing board"
Moltzen will know more in 2-3 weeks
Simona hurt his knee but fine to play
Anasta injured shoulder & fine to play
Siro passed concussion test & playing
Fulton seeing a specialist in Melbourne, out until further notice
Milone likely gone for the season
Hoeter should be back in a couple of weeks

They have injury updates on the tigers official site, and they mention both Patterson and Gavet.
Didn't G Stewart have a bad finger injury last year?

I usually check the Velbexx 17 report weekly and hadn't heard anything different with Patterson

Gavet has unfortunately earned a reputation for his long recoveries from what initially appeared to be benign injuries.

Of course everyone is interested. The issue comes when people start making huge ASSumptions about why players take so long to come back from injuries.

How can people diagnose via Foxsports and somehow know better than professional NRL medical staff? They can't, thats the point being made.

If Patterson gets back in three months with ruptured tendons in his finger he's doing well .
I ruptured a tendon in my finger jumping over a six foot chain link fence years ago . The pain is friggin horrific

the injuries are what they are. I think the issue that is getting most a bit agitated is that the club is not managing the information flow on these injuries at all well. A couple of weeks ago the press was reporting everyone but Moltzen was available for selection (dont let the facts get in the way of a good story!) - there was no correction from the club. Recent reports have Gavet a week or two away - now its back to the drawing board whatever that means! And out of virtually nowhere Patterson is out for most of the rest of the season. It shouldnt be hard to have an accurate weekly update of the squad's condition on the website.
