Viva Las Vegas

The Dogs have problems with their halves.
They didn’t win that game for their team, it was their wide runners doing it on their own.
Galvin and Burton are both good players but neither are clutch, nor methodical enough to take advantage of all that field position they had.
Good effort from the Dragons. They didn’t give in and hung tough holding their line for large chunks.
Enjoyable game to watch.

Tough call for that strip penalty. Pretty average game really. Not much to excite the US audience.
Bulldogs will be tough to beat - fast line speed in D and intent with the ball in hand, few mistakes.
Dragons halves are poor, backs average. Forwards try hard but nothing special.

I don’t know what game you watched but you have seriously gotten a lot of things arse backwards there.
Bulldogs were the more unimpressive team out there and Dragons will win their share this year.
Neither were great, but it’s round 1

I think it was noticeable to nearly all of us that the Dogs were getting the majority of the calls. Late tackles, head slams, the call at the end. Let’s not forget they got a penalty for dissent after the Suli head slam which effectively got them to GP.
Yep. I also counted 4 times when they had ball in hand on their 6th tackle, they dicked about with it..denying the dargons a quick re-start. And when drags were setting up last play for a field goal, twice the dogs defender laid in the ruck like a drunk having a nap.

Yeah I noticed that too. The first FG attempt in normal time was a classic example.

The Vegas experiement IMO has failed on the key outcomes it set out to achieve.

1) Capture the US betting market - they are NOT interested.
2) Capture the US TV market - FTA TV was not interested in showing the game on FTA this year after last years ratings were dismal. Even FOX weren't interested in showing the games on the premier sports channel FOX 1. The games were relegated to FOX2.

I doubt more than 1,000 Americans paid full freight to go to the game, I suspect there were plenty ofg giveaway tickets for Americans.......Most of the fans in attendance were from Oz or UK.`

Once the Vegas hype fades so will taking games there

It's time to clean up the BS that goes on sixth tackles with the ball not being released, rolled away or thrown out back. We need to introduce, like AFL, 50 m penalty if ball is not given to opposition immediately on sixth tackle.

Actual crowd number not given?

Im fine with that if they also play the ball where the tackle is made. I get more annoyed seeing a set die 1m from the line and the ball then played about 6m from the line. Get back to the mark end I'll give you the ball.
