TEAM LIST VODAFONE WARRIORS Team

Team List
You're not wrong there mate. The game has become so boring, sterile and predictable these days. Used to watch basically every game every week because you didn't want to miss out on seeing a decent stink or a Chief vs Spudd-type gladiatorial battle. Now you would be lucky to see something like that once or twice a season. Now it's about Instagram, arse pats, cringey handshakes and keeping the hairstyle looking schmicko for the tv cameras.
Mate, growing up I would have been in the top 1% of passionate rugby league people. I am still involved in grassroots rugby league but at the professional level it’s not even my favourite sport anymore. Some of that is the putrid club I support but a lot of it is the lack of integrity in the code. The game is going to die I’m telling you.

My interest level has died off massively. It's a betting product nowadays. Rules are enforced whenever it suits the refs to manage a result. How far it's dropped off in the last decade or so is incredible. I still love the actual game itself, the physical contest when it is allowed to be played that way. Officials have way too much say in the outcome, not to mention the bunker that can view incidents 10 times, in super slow motion if need be, and still come up with the wrong decision.

Apart from origin and finals it’s bland as. Three or four good teams beating up on the crap sides. Rules and judiciary set up for those top sides. Rich fat cats giving each other back rubs and thinking everything is sweet. The ladies in canteens across the country do a better job than the administrators.

Even Origin has lost a lot of its appeal IMO. Too sanitised. The hype is always much greater than the on-field product these days. Back when it was blood and thunder it was must-watch.
The players still have a real dig and it’s normally not ruined by a hero with a whistle,

Josh Curran is a real good player. Wholehearted. Wish we had someone like him.
My fav nrl player, has a huge motor capable of playing big minutes in the middle and edges.
If we don't play organised up tempo footy it will be another long day I'm afraid, hope I'm wrong.
I'd like to see us string together at least three passes after the second hit up, go left then right, try to get their big forwards gassed then look for gaps.

No doubt they still have a dig but IMO it's only slightly more interesting than a good club game nowadays. Back in the day it was a brilliant showcase of intensity, brutality and rivalry. These days there might even be a few arse-pats exchanged by rival players.

If your still involved with young fellas playing the sport then mate we need people like you to teach kids things like mateship, loyalty respect.
A lot of kids don't have good role models.
I would love to coach again but with replacement limbs it's impossible.
Don't give up on them mate if you can find time to do it, and that goes with any Forum member, if you have time to assist kids in any capacity please help them. 👍

Fair call

I used to love watching the warriors play tough footy years ago.
I know grounds 20yrs ago were not pristine like the manicured fields of today, but at full time back in the day players were nearly black from hard yakka, it was brutal.
I love watching the physical confrontations between the likes of JWH and some other dominant forward but the NRL have made the game practically a docile event.
I understand duty of care but can't we get players to sign indemnity forms and as long as stiff arms and elbows etc aren't allowed then let's go!
Soon boxing will be face slapping with sponges.

Good post mate. It's very important to help out the youngsters and keep them on the right path.

Basically every team plays the same style of game, some do it a lot better than others. The game has turned into a arm wrestle but the opponents are far from equal in size and strength.

I find the NRL now extremely boring and predictable , but in saying that if our mob were one of the heavy weights I would probably find it a tad more enjoyable.

Like others I struggle to watch our mob run around for 80 minutes, as for the seven other games I hardly stayed tunned for more than 20 minutes. The game is slowly dying

so far seems more open, less tag team ,more pure.still got the modern day stench about it .leave it 2 the kiddies 2 battle it out in the brave new world, maybe time 2 pass the baton on,feet up relax

Yet TV ratings are at an all time high..
Because it doesn't have much competition. It's the best of a bad bunch. Sport in general has turned to garbage. AFL used to be a brilliant sport back in the 80's (when it was the VFL), PC and constant rule changes have turned that sport into a joke as well.
If there was some sort of better alternative IMO people would turn their back on the NRL in large numbers.
