How good was his call last night. Sure ray has a great voice but vossy is a great caller, its a pity hes been given a rough trot because he might not be a brown nosed gnome like half of channel 9.

he was amazing. such great enthusiasm whereas rabs just sounds fake. his tone is just natural for the right purposes. i love hearing him and the only person who while commentating i havent muted. i have always muted any of the fox commentators and sometimes rabs coz after a while his voice hurts my ears for some reason LOL
 
I respectfully disagree :slight_smile:
My preference is ABC's Morrow/Ryan combo, so I mute my TV and listen to ABC :slight_smile:
 
Vossy was pretty good last night. I did like the fact, and this is really picky, but he referred to us as Wests, the Tigers and Wests Tigers constantly, which should hopefully ease the tensions of those who believe the media a swayed towards simply the Tigers.

In saying that, Rabs is still miles ahead imo. Andrew Moore does a good job on 2GB as well, and I'm warming to Dan Ginnane on Triple M Monday Nights.

Was going to throw Dan Ginnane's name into the mix. Whenever discussion of callers comes up he doesn't really rate a mention but he is very good.

Best caller on TV, but got shafted because he said that a statue which looks nothing like Rabs doesn't look like Rabs.

If 7 or 10 get the NRL rights, I hope they also get Vossy.
 
I like listening to Vossy talk, definitely my favourite commentator.

It feels like Wests Tigers is his favourite team, I think he follows Souffs though.

I'll never forget how he predicted the Benji field goal attempt from just over half way against the Titans.

Yea I think he does follow the tigers I'm sure I've heard him say he is a tigers supporter when he used to host the Sunday roast

I'm hoping foxtel picks him up. Three calls back to back on super Saturday. Haha. Beats listening to Daley and crew saying stupid things constantly and not making and sense at all half the time.

He is a Souths fan, but he is a bigger fan of the game than his team. I remember when he was a host on the footy show he actually bought a membership to all 16 clubs. Would love to see him in a bigger role on another network since he has clearly fallen out of favour with the boys club at 9.
 
Yeah, been a big fan of Vossy and its been sad not hear him and listen to his hilarious craziness on the Roast !

He's currently commentating the queensland cup which they play at 2pm on Sundays, and its quite an entertaining and well commentated/recorded comp.

Hope hes back next year
 
It's not that voss is out of favor, he was involved in a some what scandalous situation with somebody at 9 and as a result the plan was to phase him out, although with the Olympics coming up who knows…

Yeah i enjoy listening to Vossy the most out of all the commentators, I also enjoy listening to Rabbits and Gus, just not when they're together..agree wholeheartedly with FOX calls being sub-standard.

I like Vossy, cos he doesn't kiss everyones arse. I have had reason to deal with Rabs through my employment numerous times and can say first hand that he is a massive prick of a human being. He plays the nice persona on the box but in real life he is a tool.
 
Ray Warren is great… if you want somebody rambling on for half the game about how to pronounce players' names or colonoscopies...

Vossy is my favorite. Sad to see him getting phased out.

It's been announced that Sterlo will move up to be the play-by-play caller when Rabs and Hadley go to the Olympics.

I reckon the best caller out of the lot of em on Channel 9 is Tim Gilbert. He called a game last yr on a Friday night and i thought he was flawless
