What do you guys think?

Who would you prefer to be our no.9 in the future?

Liddle or Cherrington?

I've gone with Liddle as he looks to have better defence!

They are both top shelf prospects. They both have on field leadership quality as well. Cherrington is a bit further along in his development and has already shown he can handle first grade pretty well. Liddle is a bit more speculative but I just have a feeling he's a shade better.

Gone with Liddle on the basis that Brooks and Moses will be staying, with him allowing them to run the play.

Got the feeling Mania is as good as gone anyhow.

Think Liddle is a bit bigger, but also shows a wide range of skills. His defence is good, but yet to see him against NRL quality. I doubt we can keep both & mail is Cherrington already has one foot out the door.

Both great young hookers …Liddle has a more all round game...Timeframe is better ...I went with him...

Both are good, especially in attack, however I go for Cherrington, his done well when called into FG, he is also a more solid defender, and I feel he is only going to get better.

Pretty much this….

I think going off TigerTorch's post - Liddle is willing to show more loyalty, develope and wait for his chance. Attitude wise that gets a tick from me. He's been playing NSW cup a bit too and he's essentially a 20's player that makes a good impact at a higher level.

Very impressed at what I've seen from him, whereas Cherrington - it recent showings, has been nothing special. Perhaps his head isn't in the game anymore and he's thinking about his future, otherwise - the attitude isn't there.

Liddle for mine, keen to see him progress.

Have not seen much of Liddle but have liked what I have seen.

To be honest I've been a bit underwhelmed with Mania's most recent appearances in the NRL.

So Liddle for me, with Ballin in the meantime.

Cherrington was certainly better in the under age stuff, but hasnt kicked like we would have hoped for, meaning if Liddle does, he may go past him.

I think Liddle is almost a one trick pony, he so sharp out of DH and runs amok doing so, i fear in NRL, with less opportunity to do that, he may not have enough in his game to be a top liner in NRL.

But he has footy nous, he might broaden his skill set if he needs to.

I agree that most on here have not seen enough of Liddle or as much in comparison with Cherrington. So it is a stacked deck.

I was very enthusiastic about Manaia last year but he seems to have fallin' in a hole.
Whether it is because he has signed elsewhere or not I don't know.

Think I will have to reserve judgement till I see more of Liddle or know for a fact that Manaia is going.

If Liddle is the go - we need to give him more time with Ballin so he can learn.

not much love for Mr. Cherrington

his family & friends' haka sure was amazing though.

I think that's why Ballin is on a 2 year contract, so Liddle has an extra year to develop.
If they were going to stick with Cherrington the club would not have signed Ballin.

When I saw Liddle playing U20s last year, I thought that Cherrington had a very serious challenger for the First Grade going forward. He has a bit of size about him which will stand him in good stead defending the middle. He's also strong and hard to hold out when goes for the line from close quarters.

I can see a situation going forward a year or two where both Ballin and Robbie have left and these two can share the hooking duties. That way will have two young, sharp attacking threats in Firsts. Atm, they are both getting time playing against men before we appoint them to fulltime duties in Firsts.

Definitely Liddle for me he looks sharper and perhaps he will be more patient as well. Cherrington hasn't really impressed me in the games he played at nrl level this year.

I chose Liddle simply because of timing.
Mania is wanting an answer now from the club but with Farah and/or Ballin staying at least one more year I think Liddle is the pea
