Please go.

If there was any merit to that it would have it's own article. Not just a small note at the bottom of another one.

Please go for his own sake and for the sake of the West Tigers. An opportunity like that doesn't come everyday, if there is any truth in it. Whist we love Benji, he is not the only player in the West Tigers. At his current form, he doesn't command that yet. When he gets to error minimise or error free decision, winning us matches on his own, then he is worth another look, that does not mean he is not capable of. However till now, his errors cost us more in games lost then games won.If I were him and that I loved the West Tigers I would definitely work at improving my game and not worry about what else is going around, I will win my right to any increase pay, not demanding it. Benji definitely has a place in the West Tigers heart and a great potential in the media in the future, he can maintain his prospect or he can throw it all away, everything is up to him. EARN it instead of demanding it.

If he wants a realese the Tigers should ask for a 1 million transfer fee as he has 2 yrs on contract.

I have said it previously is that I would NOT like to see Benji playing in another NRL Club jersey! Give him Brooks as his 1/2 back next year and a reasonable sized forward pack and Benji will be back to his scintillating best. He is the face of the Tigers along with Farah and his commercial value to the club is the up there with the best in the game.
I say give him a 2 year extension to 2017 and that lines him up with Robbie and let him retire as a one club Tiger legend!

What is he worth? IMO $800,000 per year but only if the club has secured Brooks until 2017 and beyond, as well as a couple of Phillistines in the fowards?

If we released him i bet we would be paying part of his contract, so it would be a no win situation, so lets just keep him.

Yep you bet your life we would, and that is wasted money to me :roll lets keep him, I'm sure he will come good assuming there is no real problem between he and the coach :crazy

Just came back from members day and a couple of the staff( Wayne Cousins in particular was telling us all not to believe a word that was written in today's paper. Ironically the telegraph were giving out free papers upon entering lol. Put this to rest please Tiges one way or the other

handy if they run out of loo paper at Leichhardt

That's all it's good for. What's with the raft of negative stories about WT in their filthy rag this morning? We must have banned them from the dressing room again last night lol.

he's still contracted to us till 2015, this crap wouldn't be coming out if we didn't have a boat load of injuries and were doing a tad better at the beginning of the season.

What you are saying makes a lot of sense.

I am sure that there is no problem between Benji and the coach. Potter is proving to be a tough but very fair coach.

Benji Marshall is expected to decide during his club's July 6-18 bye period whether to accept an upgraded offer from Wests Tigers or set his sights on playing in the next Rugby World Cup and Olympics.
Marshall, who has received an approach from Super Rugby side the Blues to switch codes and return to New Zealand, intends to make a call before the July 19 clash with the Warriors at Leichhardt Oval.
After playing a leading role in the Tigers' best win of the season, against Melbourne, he wants to focus on Friday's clash with Cronulla and will then spend the following two weeks considering his future.
What decision he will make is unclear. Marshall has seemed happier in recent weeks as the Tigers recorded back-to-back wins over Canberra and Melbourne to move within two points of the top eight.

The recent run of success, which means the Tigers have won four of their past five matches, has also shored up the position of coach Mick Potter, whose future was being questioned by some within the club after seven consecutive losses.
At the time, the Tigers had been decimated by injuries and Marshall was struggling for form - prompting concerns about whether Potter was the right man for the job, particularly after his decision to bench Marshall against Souths*.
''I am not denying that we have been through a very bad patch and I am not denying the fact that when you go through a bad patch the most vulnerable person is the coach, but we are talking about past history,'' Wests Tigers chairman Mike Bailey said.
''We are talking about how bad we went for seven weeks in a row, and I have got to say that I was biting my nails ahead of the game against the Cowboys thinking 'not another loss' but we turned it around there and we have continued to build on that. At that time I was worried - not just about the coach but the whole business - but since then we have been on an upward and onward situation.''
Potter addressed the Tigers board last Thursday night and there was no discussion at the meeting about the possibility he may not see out his two-year contract.
''We were hopeful at that stage that we would beat Melbourne, we have beaten Melbourne and I think that should put to bed some of the rumours and stories that may have been around during that bad patch we suffered,'' Bailey said.
Fairfax Media was told that even when the Tigers were at rock bottom those prepared to consider sacking a second coach within a year would not have the support to do so. Not only are the Tigers still paying Tim Sheens, but officials are also mindful of falling into the same boom-bust cycle as Parramatta, who have had four coaches in the past six seasons.
Marshall was unhappy about being dropped to the bench for the round-10 clash with Souths but Fairfax Media was told he had never suggested to any Tigers official that Potter should be sacked. However, he is disappointed that a proposed contract extension until 2017 is no longer on the table and the Tigers are now only offering him an upgrade on the remaining two years of his current deal.
The Tigers have boom halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses coming through the ranks but their dilemma is that the 28-year-old Marshall may not hang around.
Marshall's manager Martin Tauber received a new offer for an upgraded contract last Friday but the Tigers are competing with the lure of a Rugby World Cup and playing sevens for New Zealand at the 2016 Olympic Games. ''Benji is contracted with the club until the end of 2015,'' Tigers chief operating officer Grant Mayer said.
Correction: An earlier version of this story said the bye was in June and Marshall was benched against the Bulldogs.

Whereever you go Benji, earn your money. You will have respect and you have your head held high. Take the easy money and you lose respect and mat even lose your potential. It is all up to you.Concentrate on doing what you are doing and doing it well, I am sure you have plenty of room for improvement. Remember when you hurt your shoulder, the West Tigers and the fans were all in your corner. I think you will be worth a lot more as a one club person than someone who is always chasing the dollar and not returning value for it.Esteem is important and I don't think you are one that is always chasing the $ and not giving value. Earn it and you have all our respect and the respects of your future employers as well.
Improve on several aspects of your game and when you are doing well on the field, you can talk turkey any time then, not now Benji.

Keep him for the love of god….Boy people have short memories. Benji has captivated our imaginations for years and in the last few weeks has shown that his game is adaptable...in case people haven't noticed the ENTIRE team perhaps bar woods and farah was disgraceful for two months - not just benji. Is it any surprise they have ALL begun to click at the same time? NO. They are beginning to adapt to Potters style.

On a final note whenever Benji has been partnered with a capable halfback he is a world beater. Im a huge fan of Siro but he isn't the half we or benji needs...he will be a terrific player though but i see a shift to the forwards in the future. Prince in 05 with benji > premiership... Lui with marshall in 2010, 2011 > genuine premiership contenders.

Benji during his injured season of 04 and both he and prince being injured in 06 = n/a, 07-09 morris and others, cant put the blame on benji and in fact he was still amazing during this time. Benji deserves our faith and loyalty, he has been a great club man, give him time...id be happy with a 2.5 million contract for this 2014-2017
