Watson Heleta and Marion Seve

Maybe we should cut our ties with Keebra park given the distance and possible homesickness of players.

We got luck with Marshall whilst BMM did no turn out well and Seve is now leaving.

Maybe an association with local schools should be our new pathway forward.

In fact Seve is rated so highly, the 20-year-old should make his NRL debut at the Broncos this year.

Broncos also expected to debut in 2016 include back-rower Jai Arrow, winger Elijah Alick and utility back Carlin Anderson.

A breakdown between Seve and Tigers coach Jason Taylor helped deliver him to Red Hill.

We can't keep letting players go just because they get dirty on a decision by the coach. Full credit to Taylor for being up front with these guys but don't turn around and release them. Give them a pathway back, tell them what they need to do and that they are still very much in the frame. Let them cool down, and within in a week they will settle, put their head down and work hard. Don't just say, ok see ya.

I agree on the release part to an extent….but if a players attitude is that they are better than that or they are not prepared to put in the work required to get back into the frame as they believe they are entitled..what should the Club do then ?

Would be nice if there was a press release from the club rather than reading it in the Courier mail

I think if the players attitude becomes an ongoing issue then the thought of release should be considered. Not just given days after one blow up

From the Courier Mail article:

_Ipswich junior Seve is the third under-20s star the Broncos have signed in the NRL’s off-season, after nabbing Cronulla’s Jamayne Isaako and Canberra’s Tevita Pangai Jnr._

Just incredible who they have bought in the off-season for an already strong squad. The salary cap is clearly dead and buried.

The sooner there is a 2nd side in Brisbane the better.

The WT wouldve went to ground to stay out of the media… At the end of the day, they wouldnt have too much to say on the subject as it would obviously get spun against them.

I can see it now: "WT have today released Marion Seve because he knows he is better than the over-paid Simona. As Tim is precious and part of the protected in tigerland, we thought it best to get rid of the kid to not upset the players we have invested too much money in. We wish Seve well in his endevours to play in a team capable winning a Grand Final. The club has nothing further to add, as we know we are a basket case"

Maybe the release could have said we gave another pampered 20yo a release as he had a dummy spit when told he would not be given a starting 1st grade spot on a platter and may need to work for it. We wish Marion all the best in this next phase of his career, and hopefully one day he will become the player that he already thinks he is.

Good news for the Ipswich Jets

I see the Jets have also signed David Faaalogo as well

Norths will get first choice, but it would be good for him to go home if he will be around family…

Hopefully Faalogo has a good year and Wests Tigers sign him

I'm not too bothered by this. The focus can't be on what players have done in the past, it needs to be on their current potential. For a variety of reasons including injury he has not shown much in recent times. So do you keep him on the books at the price a superstar junior expects to be paid at in the hope that it somehow all clicks at the NRL level for him? You can't do it with all of them.

You invest in the juniors so that you have first shot at them when they start realising their potential at the highest level. You hope that you've managed to cultivate some loyalty in them so that you can keep them at the club when they do kick on. That's the potential upside. The downside is it all costs money. The club needs to be able to recognise when to cut the investment and not hold on for emotional reasons (or in the increasingly desperate hope of a return on investment). Maybe they got it right here and maybe they didn't, but these are the kinds of calls they need to make to manage the salary cap. I'm not going to criticise them for making this call just because he was a junior superstar that we sank some coin into over the years.

With the WT's giving Brisbane every Adam , Marion and James that we have I wish we would swap them for Carlin Anderson

I can't say this anymore , this kids gonna be the bee knees

I reckon Brisbane will play him in the 9's , watch this kid go

Ipswich Jet as well

I think you and I will both have long years in Q Cup this year… Good Luck!

Isnt Anderson a Fullback? Where are you gona move James?

I am no fan of the Myth ..he has to put in this season ,there is a lot of talk about him but IMO have not seen all that much to warrant the he hype.

Agree a bit here , but also think the deck is being cleared somewhat . Must say there are a few higher up in the pecking order that should be looked at as well.

one door closes another opens. Hope this guy steps up, was fantastic to watch last year… http://www.weststigers.com.au/team/profiles/obed_karwhin.html

Watto, your in the bracket of guys on here that I feel is generally on the same wavelength as me regarding league, but I don't get the hate for Simona at all. Granted he hasnt lit the world up like we hoped since his break out season, but some things he did last year made him look top class. With reports he is finally fully fit and regained some pace, I expect a huge year from him.

Kharwin has a lot to like about him but he lacks genuine pace from the games I watched last year. Hope he proves me wrong because we need someone to step up and excite.
