We are gonna lose lui, lazarus, moltzen or mullayney

We will deffinately lose one, if not 2\. Which ones we lose will depend on the situation. Its something we will just have to deal with and hopefully whoever stays, kicks on.

1\. Lazarus has had a few short-term contracts because of injury problems. Either he will stay, continue to be injured and not succeed or will go to another club and suddenly lose all injury problems.
2\. Moltzen is an intergral member but is being played everywhere. He is a Central Coast junior so if they enter the comp or another team offers a deffinate in his favourite position, we may lose him.
3\. Mullaney isn't the biggest and is behind a few guys at the moment. If a team comes with some cash and a chance of starting fullback, he would be stupid to stay.
4\. Lui has yet to cement his spot but is a Queensland junior so I wouldn't be too surprised to see him return some day.

I wouldnt mind having Lui at 13\. He makes more per hitup than our current 13 and is clearly more creative. His defence would need work but thats the case regardless of where he plays.

Agree 1000%….it would be his best position...but how many ball players can we carry?
I loved the way he played in the 20's, putting guys into holes left right and centre

Lazarus and Mullaney imo. Moltzen is a damn good five-eighth and his value to this team isn't as great as his market value. Imagine what a team like Penrith, NZ or North QLD would give for Tim Moltzen? When the time comes I can't see him being worth that much to us. Lui can be turned into a damn fine lock ala Feleti Mateo but we don't really require that and with our backrow stocks at an all time high and Lazarus and Marshall in the halves Lui will probably go elsewhere when his true market value is assessed in the future. Lazarus simply is our halfback solution. I have a bad feeling Mullaney isn't going to make the grade and I don't think Arana Taumata will be at WT in 2011 though I feel we will nurture him back into first grade and make him a valuable product for another club. I think he'll go back to Canterbury.

Lui a lock are you drunk? locks need to be the best defender on the park which is probably Luis weakest attribute. Besides he has way too many valuable ball skills to waste at lock.

If Moltzen performs at half for the next few weeks … keep him (and play him at half for the season) and otherwise I'm not too concerned. If not, run Laz at half before Lui comes back from injury and choose between them. You may lose 2 of these guys and yes it would be good to keep a real halfback, but Moltz can fill the spot we need if Farah and Benji kick properly, and if not, give Lui longer to prove his metal (and he can kick)

It's a big assumption to say Mullaney will end up at 7\. Right now the Tigers NYC team is VERY weak in the halves and they're not using Mullaney there. Seriously, given the wraps on Mullaney, if he was the best option at 7, they would play him there, but they are not.

The 20's are looking through coke bottle glasses. They dont have another option at Fullback, so I'm pressuming that on the back of Jake's performances last year, they feel its best to leave him at the back. On the point of there halves, Jay Florimo is a future star of the game, so stating they are weak is a poor 'assumption'. And to make things even more laughable relating to the 20's, they have a guy in the second row who could potentially be better the Tanella Tuiaki on the wing. Considering Jackson is out injured, I know where I would play Junior.

As a note, Jake couldnt get a run in the 20's last year at 7 or 6 because of Nicholls & Lui and this was the reason to find a place for him at Fullback as he is way too talented…

Huh…the 20's have at least 2 other options for fullback....Limoni Kamuta, Sama Sauvao....they both play in the trials at fullback when Mullaney was in firsts....they did very well....

Florimo is not a halfback. Bodie Clarke is a ballrunner not an organiser and ATM the team is lacking direction bigtime..Anything good is coming from the 9 and 1......There is Marcus Bower and Liam Ayoub also options in the halves.....I would put Mullaney there but that doesn't seem to be in Coach Jones plans ATM...

Roqica has been moved to the forwards to toughen him up...with the beef he's put on .....makes him too slow for a 20's winger.....

We will keep 3 of them I believe. Blake Ayshford is a natural footballer who will be our lock forward probably next year.
Moltzen will be in the centres, Mullaney at fullback and Lui at half.

Moltzen is another natural player who I fell is a better centre than fullback. Having watched a lot of Lui the guy has the talent, I see what the coaching staff and players see in him. The fact we signed him for another 2 years and a member of the coaching staff said last year he won't play 20's this year as he will be in the NRL side shows how highly regarded he is. If he develops he could be the half we have been waiting for since prince left.

Lazarus is the unlucky player to miss out in my opinion. Maybe he might get the fullback job in front of Mullaney, maybe Lui will be injury prone and Lazarus will get a chance and shine at half but at this stage as much as he is a talent he would be the one most likely to leave.

It is a hard position to be in but hopefully the club ends up making the right retention choices but I would not surprise me if all 4 have great NRL careers.

After reading some articles last year, I was of the assumption that Moltzen is the Biggest Kicker in the club. Was this statement made on the basis that he can kick a ball, but has no control?

Ithink if the central coast gets there team in Moltzen will go along with Heightion a mate of mine had a drink with Flo who said he thinks there in. We need to keep Lazarus at all cost

I don't see Lui as a lock at all. We have the likes of Simon Dwyer and Matt Hyland coming through.

We still need depth in the halves to back up Benji and Moltzen if injuries strike. Lui has to top that list.

I think Taumata will be released and both Mullaney and Lazarus will be retained for depth. If they are good enough in the lower grades they'll get there chance at some stage.

If Lazarus continues on his form and stays injury free he will be either in the top grade here or elsewhere next season I think.

Either way it is inevitable we will lose some, you just hope you don't lose the ones that matter

I hope Mr Sheens is reading all these posts you guys are putting on re Lazarus, sounds like he would make the best halfback, he does have a great kicking game, and if he can kick goals lets put him in the team immediately (can we all be wrong about this bloke!)

i just hope wts get off there bum n sign blake cause out of all these guys blake is the only one off contract next year, with the way he has been playin it wont b long b4 someone else snaps him up n that would b a sad loss 4 a kid that gives his all 4 wts n has waited so long 2 show everyone just how great a player he is

Haven't read those articles Watto but I certaintly haven't seem him kick a 40/20.

With Lui being re-signed that might make things difficult for Moltzen to become the regular halfback here seeing as though the coaching staff have Lui as their first choice number 7.

It could be a big 4-6 weeks coming up for not just Moltzen's future, but also Lui's and the club's future.

So next year we have a side that reads

1\. Jake Mullaney
2\. Lote Tuqiri
3\. Tim Moltzen
4\. Chris Lawrence
5\. Taniela Tuiaki
6\. Benji Marshall
7\. Blake Lazarus
8\. Keith Galloway
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Bryce Gibbs
11\. Gareth Ellis
12\. Simon Dwyer
13\. Robert Lui

14\. Liam Fulton
15\. Andrew Fifita
16\. Jason Cayless
17\. Todd Payten

Ahhh that's a classy football team.

Cant assess who needs to go till sheens makes up his mind who is our number 7\. Id go Moltzen and spend a year persisting with him while he learns. Let Lui go. Lazarus can go too for mine. Mullaney should be our fullback next year.

lui will end up somewhere in qld, its where his from and all his family is there so i cnt see him staying here once he makes a name for himself.
moltzen needs to pick up his game but i have heard the bears will most likely go after him if they are aloud into the nrl.
lazerus…unproven, until he gets a shot in fg i wnt be to fussed.

i remember the article, it said that moltz had the biggest boot at the club and one of the most accurate

Further to my previous post re Blake Lazarus. Blake appears to possess all the skills that we need in our team - good ball skills,a fine kicking game, and an excellent goal kicker.(we sure need a good goal kicker). Mr Sheens, why isn't this man in our team !! Don't let him get away like we let Shannon Gallant fall through the cracks !
