We are screwed

Cant believe there's much reason to get excited about our performance we lost to Parra who are not travelling that great this year .Moses was brilliant and won them the game
The only exceptions are
Staines - imo we've found a fullback despite the one horrible drop near the end
Tupou - he really is one of our permanent wingers great game

Watching our Nsw cup game prior there is nothing there
Triston Reilly actually cost them the game

Weve got a good pack and a great dummy half in Api but with regard to our backline
2 or 3 good ones out of 7 ain't gunna cut it !

I am so looking forward to all the spin and fluff pieces that will come out before our next match (loss). How about some honesty for a change from management and admitting THEY are the ones screwing the club.Sheens Pascoe and the entire board are responsible for this mess of the 2023 season and nobody else
Honesty in football JT, now that is an oxymoron

I’ve got a theory that Wakeham will improve more in firsts surrounded by better players. After all, he is a more proper no 7, and a good goal kicker, that now also comes into play.
Come on , having API as our kicker is not a preferred option.
PS He and API played ok together for Fiji and API threw his name forward.

Ha, yeah I agree.
There's a bit of impatience with the supporters, and understandably..but it can take time for a player to develop and we're quick to dismiss them when they don't win the game for us on their first outing. Must be tough for the players - especially when they're coming in to a team that isn't doing so well.

I've resided with the fact that we're going to win bugger-all games this year anyway, so we may aswell try and give him the time to develop. My understanding is that he was very highly rated as a youngster, so maybe he just needs some faith showed in him.

Naden gone for an extended period, Doueihi likely gone for the season.

For the foreseeable future we are likely to see Wakeham or Laurie in the halves.

Likely To’a in the centres with either Nofa on the wing or Staines getting moved there with Laurie to fullback.
Stains stays where he is. So to Toa. Get another centre in

We need to give every effort to win while we have a team containing guys like Api, Bateman and Papali’i, we have seen too many times before that good players won’t stand losing for long. If we’re asleep at the wheel this year things could get much worse.
Yes, it's a tough balance. I don't envy the coaches...it's a bit baffling that they released Jack Madden.

People are quick to condemn players ...Wakeham came to us late and missed a fair bit of preseason with the team,he has had very little time to settle in get to know all the squad, showed some great skills in the trial, can kick goals and I believe he is here because of Api a premiership winning 9 on what 3 occasions who played with him and can see what he has to offer in the halfback position....
Lets give him a bit more than what he has been given so far to see just what he can offer...

I think at this stage we need to look at ...
1.Stains
3 Talau
4 Toa
6 Brooks
7 Wakeham
And maybe Laurie at 6 and Brooks back at 7...
We arent screwed as such.we just need the pieces to fit in place so we get a settled, consistent team all on the same page getting the gameplan in action week to week with minimum errors and hard straight running and being cohesive...

Did u all watch Laurie yesterday , he had a 5-10 meter start on Jordan randkin who has to be 35 and he ran Laurie down over 30 meters, either not trying or slower than me
Stood out to me as well. Laurie looked like he was flat out. Couldn't believe it when he didn't run away from Rankin.

Weve lost first 6 games and now our weak backline has lost Douehi and Naden so we are down on troops .We mainly need 2 quality centers . In the short term all I can think of is
Tommy Talau was a reasonable center in 2021 but he's had 1.5 games since not enough of a sample size to know if he can get back some form or not . I hoping he can
I already posted that nobody in the cup side can help ! Well a small correction I thought Saukuru was clearly the best of an ordinary lot . Dont know Nrl is another level but some hope there . AJ is a bench relief 2nd row not a center . Toa is a winger not a center
By the way Laurie had apart from first 10 mins a strong game in cup . He can definitely play Nrl but with Staines a lock at fullback not sure where he can fit in

Guys this might be a stupid suggestion, but what about matamua to five eigth

Too slow. Sheens said it right at the start of the season. We need speed in the spine. Ideally we should also just call Brooks our 6. He plays more like a 6 than a 7.

The coaches had a plan to attract guys like Munster, Teddy and Moses. Fail. Fail. Fail. They forgot they were coaching at Wests Tigers.
If I was recruited by the Tigers I wouldn't want to go there either in the current state. That's why it's going to take a while. They need to build something players want to go to first.

Everything he does seems half-arsed. Maybe if he did a few extras outside of training (sprint training etc) instead of rolling around a golf course 7 days a week or practicing his bunnyhops on his scooter he might have a bit of explosive power like most of the other FB's in the game have.
