We could have won, easily!

We had plenty of opportunities but once again ill-discipline killed us.
We took the wrong mentality into the game and if we had just held onto the ball we would have beaten them. Something must be done about dumb penalties and errors.

Defense was the difference today. As per usual, we had to work hard for our tries and the opposition only had to get down our end.

I dont know what can be done here.

We just dont have an adequate defensive structure…especially on our line.

Dragons missed a lot more tackles than us but it was the ones that really counted that they took and we missed.

dropped ball.

the fact that we got it to 24-18 speaks volumes of what we can do potentially.

and in good news, seems like moltzen (according to the radio call) had a decent game at fullback.

Considering the amount of improvement left in the Tigers, and the fact that Galloway was ruled out late in the week, and McKinnon during the warm up…You could be forgiven for thinking the Tigers would have been rolled 30-0.

24-18 against a side that leaks 12 points a game on average is alright considering the Tigers still took some silly options and conceded a couple of soft tries. If this team can get their act into gear, they can definitely worry the top sides. Despite the loss hopefully they can take some positives out of it and step it up a gear next week.

Moltzen showed some spark in attack on a couple of occasions, but his defence remains poor. Gasnier's try, Nightingale's try we may as well not have had a full back at all.

Looks like we are in for McKinnon hammy hell again. I'm sure Sheens wants Moltz at full back, but Brown is a better option in the short term IMO.

Yes and thats the difference beyween champs and chumps.Making big plays when they are most important is what saints do best with daylight second. Our defence becomes better the minute we get ellis and lawrence and tuqiri fully fit throw in brown at fulback instead of moltzen and hopefully a fully fit payten and our defence improves tenfold. As im writing this its the 50 minute mark in the game and weve just scored for 20-12 we get a penalty on our own 20 metre line and robbie farah fails to find touch.Throw in farah going from dummy half on the last five metres out from the line early in the first half and that was just two of many bad decisions we made.At least there was an improvement in the dropped ball this week.

Defence around the ruck was good.
Shld've been no dropped ball after last week, doubt goes over preparation then.
Defensive reads by outside backs, wingers was poor.

Forwards smashed it tonight.
Attitude x10000, thats what made the difference between Panthers and Saints game.
Esp. Heighington.

Well first 2 tries were on the back of dubious penalties ESP. The shirnack one. That said I think the dragons did relax for 10 mins in the second half.

As usual if we played our first 15 mins like our last 15 they could sing the team song.
