West Harbour Rugby

Just a bit of rugby trivia, featuring the West Harbour Pirates:

This past weekend marked the second week in a row that every Super Rugby game being played had a player that has played for West Harbour Pirates (and not too many clubs could say that in the Shute Shield):

Blues vs Brumbies
Jack Debrezceni and Allan Alaalatoa (Brumbies)

Drua vs Chiefs
Vuate Karawalevu (Drua)

Moana vs Hurricanes
Pat Pellegrini (Moana)

Waratahs vs Force
Carlo Tizzano and Josh Thompson (Force)

Crusaders vs Reds
James O’Connor (Crusaders)

WEST HARBOUR

Aiming to have a much brighter season than last year’s wooden spoon effort, the Pirates celebrate their 125 year anniversary in 2025.
Under new head coach Phil Blake, who has returned from Queensland to take over from Cam Treloar, West Harbour have signed some key players including Will Dooner from Sydney University. Blake will be assisted in coaching by Ben Rutherford and Chris Siale, while Paul Collins is the head of performance.

INS: Trent Bax, Morris Clementson, Will Dooner, Harrison Hanson, Byron Lloyd Gilmour, Jack Sheridan. Sau Ofahengaue Manly

OUTS: Scott King, Micah Gillard, Callum Skirter, Hotoni Hafoka.

The new coach will be looking for a first up kill v the students. Good luck.

A tough start and new players to strut their stuff, but hey, what's not to say .........

And champion @Halbrowne61 - forgot to mention, thanks for your support of this thread.
(My father played for Wests way back, I spent many a day there watching 4 grades, used to help the timekeeper ring the bell when it was on a table up in the old grandstand (now long gone) so I always have had a wanting for them to do well.)
