West Tigers Team named for clash with Eels

That would be nice. I wanna see Fulton lead the team out as captain- don't mind Anasta as the on field captain getting under the skin of the refs.

Decent looking side all things considered. Luani went well against the Eels last year so hopefully he'll back that up again. The rest of the forward pack is very strong, just a bit worried about Rowe at fullback and how creative Anasta may be. Hopefully they aim up, but I think this will be a very tough game.

Good on Mick for selecting Blake in this squad… While I believe Anasta is a must until later in the year, Blake should feel proud he is apart of this group rather than being discarded back to Reggies straight away.

When he is released, I hope he uses his time in NSW Cup to keep his energy high and push for selection.

This group of boys are gona make a statement to the NRL over the next 3 months!!!

Maybe I was reading too much into it, but to me, Potters choice of words (and he doesn't waste too many) during his recent ABC grandstand interview seemed to suggest that he had always planned to run with Blake late in the season as part of a succession plan if things fell into place

Unless Luani has improved leaps and bounds in 2014 I see his selection as a knee jerk solution, while he played a handful of NRL games at the back end of 2013 I still have vivid memories of him having a very poor game against the Eels at Parra Stadium.
A very selfish attempt at a try from dummy half was just one example of why the Tigers were beaten by the wooden spooners, oh well our game is all about redemption but I still would have had Liam Fulton at hooker just to save him from getting bashed by the Parra pack!.

I see it pretty much as Willow's comments above - except - Yeah Rowe needs experience and could be a concern, but then again he could have a Nofoluma or Simona game (in their earlier days) and really rip and how exciting would that be? Anasta? I'm not looking for or expecting creativity, more so a conservative calming influence. Hopefully Brooks will hit his straps and come up with the creativity as required. Solid in the forwards and Luaini will be solid as well.

I would be tempted to run with Austin and Anasta over Brooks this round. Not because Brooks deserves to be dropped but mostly because Brooks might struggle without Farah to feed him when appropriate on top of no Tedesco to aim at. Austin, Rowe and Luani have a few game together and Austin will have more experience running basic plays and his history of being in and out of the top grade gives him the experience of having played with a wide variety of different styles and structures whereas Brooks has dropped off a bit without Tedesco in the side much less without Farah.

A bit of horses for courses.

Brooks went okay without Farah last time. Probably his best game to date.

I thought Rowe went 'alright' against the cows; his debut after all. But he will need to go better this week. His size is a real worry to me.

I don't know if this will hinder or help us but we have the referee from Storm Saints debacle

Also was Mr 7 tackle count from the Sharks Cowboys semi

Good to see he has been disciplined for his errors

I still like the Tigers chances this week. I reckon our forwards will eventually wear the Eels pack down and our backs will do the rest. Looking forward to this one.

Fulton is in some doubt with a shoulder complaint and will be assessed on Friday. He is confident of playing though.

We don't look to have a lot of points in us on paper without Teddy and Farah.

how do you know that wacko?

falling like flies before this game, let's hope we can put up a good fight and give ourselves a 50/50 chance to win but most importantly come out the other side with no injuries. need to start getting troops back soonish else we'll be left in a similar position to last year if more are injured.

Fulton out is a big loss. Our two biggest tacklers are now out.

Will be interesting to see who comes in, especially with state cup having played yesterday.

Did anyone drop out of the game yesterday?

OMG. The side with Lawrence and Richards is a defensive concern, and with Fulton out that side will be attacked non stop

Richards is a great defensive winger, whilst Lawrence did a good job marking Lyon last week, I think they'll be fine.

Only player to drop out of NSW Cup game was Bullock

I heard about it yesterday and Bulldogs Richie confirmed on radio this morning

I assume Anasta will play 2RF with Austin 5/8, as BMM played NSW Cup yesterday
