Wests back in the day used the short kick off for Russ to pluck it out of the air , i watched many games at the ol Lidcombe oval , he was a beauty 👍It was a beautiful service that included a poem from Geoff Foster and his nephew Brett told a couple of funny stories.
It seems he lived a great and varied life, loved by many, with the good fortune of picking a life partner who shared his philosophies on how life should be lived.
His son made a point of thanking all the Magpies supporters who posted their memories of Russell on social media, it meant a lot to the family.
RIP Russell and thanks for the great afternoons you provided to a kid on the Lidcombe hill.
