I congratulate any charity work anybody does.
For balance I will say that the Rebels Bikie club does more charity work then most other organisations. Doesn't make up for people carrying on like tosspots eg: some twits at the open media session from the RBB covering their faces like they are trying to replicate ESL hooliganism.
But as usual the genuine fan element far outweighs th idiot fronge in most sports. You think soccer has it bad? Think about Bulldogs fans and what they copped for years from the press.

There is a reason for that covering of faces. A group called "Hatomoto" is employed by the FFA to assist in monitoring the crowd if you like. Apparently they usually do surveillance work on the docks. Basically they are filming us and are profiling us. They stand in the crowd or just inside the field and get out faces. They dress in casual gear though the camera in their hand or the ear piece attached gives it away.
One was next to a mate of mine the other day and he told him to get the camera out of his face. They regularly try and antagonise us as they have quotas to reach to get a new deal next season.
Apparently they are putting us on file so if something happens in the future, they can trace back or something like that. I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't told of it and seen it myself.
There will be a profile of me and all I do is go chant and sing.
Those who have their faces covered don't want a profile of themselves. Others also don't want their customers to know what they do in their free time. One was an accountant who did some tutoring work and after his face was recognised, he actually lost some work because some mother thought he was a trouble maker because he was in the RBB.

I agree with CB. Sorry Allan but that all sounds like horse manure to me - none of it makes much sense.

I'm on the Mariners bandwagon. Most consistent side over the last three years, a premiership is deserved. Either way the match up is a dream for the FFA.

And I think the FFA may have preferred a Wanderers vs Victory match-up for the national exposure but this match would be the next best option.

The only kids who will aspire to be soccer players are those skinny ones who can't hack full contact. Those with muscles and testosterone will still crave the aggression and unique skill levels that RL provides.

Your not soft if you play union….soccer has a certain skill quotient. I don't think they will hijack all the league talent from western Sydney though as there are plenty of kids out there who want more from a sport than bouncing balls off their heads or faking injuries. League players enjoy the controlled aggression of a full contact sport that's all.

Those who think we're all the same are just narrow minded. There are people from all walks of life in the RBB and only a select few are trouble makers. We have school principals, students, teachers, tradies, sole business owners, retirees and emergency workers.
I'm sure there are just as many trouble makers in proportion that are trouble making Tigers fans.

RBB (Red & Black Bloc) is the active support group of the Wanderers. We chant and sing pre-game, during the game and after it no matter the results on the field. We also do the Poznan which is when we turn around with arms over the shoulders of the person next to you and jump up and down. We've been chanting RBB when we do this. It's only done in the 80th minute as it recognises the first game of football in western Sydney. At the semifinal we actually had a stadium wide Poznan and I've only ever seen that at Celtic matches.
The RBB is not for everyone as we are standing on the seats for the entire game, unless its the ones that flip up. We usually don't stand on them. Also the view is often restricted with flags being waved and you are expected to sing the whole time. We follow the lead of the Capos (the bloke with the megaphone) as to which chant we are doing and he organises it with the band.
Lately though the whole stadium has been singing a few of the chants, not all of them but they often contribute nonetheless. The RBB is infectious to all Wanderers fans.

A bloke let one off at the start of the second half near me last week and I couldn't see the field for about a minute and it tasted like crap. There are many fans of them though so they'll never get rid of them. A lot of these guys are new fans to the team and to the game as well. Numerous league fans I went to school with who hated football now have Facebook display pictures with the RBB and some flare smoke coming from it and regularly comment on how cool they are.
The RBB actually doesn't defend the use of them and advise everyone that anyone who uses one will be dealt with by the authorities.
