Wests Tigers 2010 Signings Chart

we will never move forward while aiming as low as we do.Shaping as another dissapointing season next year.

That is so true. Who in the heck is Mitch Brown ?? Obviously he is signed to play 1st grade from the comments made.

The Wests Tigers management are a JOKE !!!!!!!

Sign a quality prop or a half back please. **We have all other positions covered !!!!**

We don't need to sign a halfback, Moltzen and Marshall in the halves are starting to strike up a good combination and will have played enough games together by the end of the season to take that momentum into next year.

Who knows what is going on behind the scenes, sometimes its not as simple as just saying sign a prop now…you don't know whether the players want to come to the Tigers, how much money they are commanding etc etc. I'm sure they have a hit list, there is still some quality props available..lets just have a little patience.

mmm, I think you're on the wrong site, mate.

Missed the update this wk so I thought I'd help you out…

Taumata, who has been sacked by four NRL clubs for a variety of misdemeanours, including assault, has signed a two-year deal with the Tigers for the 2010 season. --Warren McDonnell

Wests Tigers signings.....4

so eels get Tahu which = the 4 crap signings we have got so far and only 1 of them would be good enough for play reserve grade to replace Ryan

does this side ever use logic?

I will be happy with next years recruiting if we sign up just one quality prop for next year as well.

Tupou - Size and Speed
Daniela - Great finisher and Speed
Brown - Size, versatility and Speed
Tomato - Versatility, Playmaker, Speed and X factor.
PROP? - Good metre eater and sound defender

It wont be the best recruiting compared to other clubs, but it wont be the worse.
We have the nucleus of a great side now, we just need to cut out the deadwood (almost done) and fix up our deficiencies.

I'm pretty happy with the way things have gone. Yep we need a prop desperately but overall I reckon it looks +ve.

If we don't sign an established prop for 2010 our recruitment drive this season will look very ordinery
& by all accounts the four backs signed is all we will be doing for the 2010 season :frowning:

It's a shame because Matt Scott is still on the market. I would throw lots at him to get him here to start for Gibbs, who drops to the bench.

That will be our rep signing.

Then Sam Burgess our rep signing in 2011

If we sign a reasonable front rower, I'll be happy enough with the 2010 signings.

Release Galea (if its true we're getting fulton back next year), Halatau and Payne. Try and find another club for payten (this is more wishful thinking).

Sign one of Crossman/Ross/Scott/Snowden/Burgess.

8\. Ross
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Heighington
12\. Ellis
13\. Fulton

14\. Taumata
15\. Dwyer/Gower
16\. Gibbs
17\. Laurie

Its not like there isn't any props out there
Matt Scott would be ideal but there a host of others like Ross/Norrie/Logan/Rose & others
There's no excuses really

Let Payten go overseas, try to offload Heighno, brush Fulton and then sign Scott, re-sign Galea and promote Shirnack. We then have a great "POTENTIAL" squad for 2010, and should have good cash to spend for 2011 if the squad doesnt reach its potential.

1.Taumata
2.Tuiaki
3.Ayshford
4.Lawrence
5.Brown
6.Moltzen
7.Marshall
13.Galea
12.Mataka
11.Ellis
10.Scott
9\. Farah
8\. Galloway

14.Gibbs
15.Laurie
16.Gower
17.Akeripa
18.Dwyer
19.Shirnack
20.Lui
21.Ryan
22.Daniela
23.Tupou
24.Vunakece
25.Hyland…...i could see him being a workaholic hooker as i think he's too small for the backrow.
26.Skandalis
27.Fifita
28.Lazarus
29.Davis/Pritchard
30.Woods

Ross could be ok at the right price. Would probably prefer Luke Douglas slightly though, he hasn't had the same serious injury concerns as Ross and is a tough nut.

That's a huge call to offload Heighno yet re-sign Galea considering Heighno makes more metres in one game than Galea makes in two Sirro. Realistically I don't think the Tigers will be paying any players out unless they desperately want out of the club and have deals on the table elsewhere.

I know you don't care for Heighington Sirro, but I've got to agree with Willow on this point. Heighington is under contract. Even if I was to accept your contention that Galea is a better fit in the side than Heighington I still wouldn't be willing to go through the cost of releasing Heighington while he's under contract and then re-signing Galea who is off contract.

I think this is a better outcome:

8\. Keith Galloway
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Matt Scott/Ben Ross/Sam Burgess
11\. Chris Heighington
12\. Gareth Ellis
13\. Simon Dwyer

14\. Arana Taumata
15\. Daine Laurie
16\. Bryce Gibbs
17\. Alan Schirnack/Todd Payten

I'd be more than happy with that pack.

Would have some great depth too.

That is the best pack and bench I've seen anyone put up…..We all no Sheens OBSESSION of having a back on the bench....well with Taumata in the 14\. the back on the bench can be used as a weapon rather than just in case a back goes down...

Workers in the backrow that can attack and size on the bench throw Skando in as 18th man and you have sold me Colonel...great start now Your Backline?

My backline with that pack (assuming full fitness):

1\. Brown/Gallant (undecided… I love MM but I reckon Brown might get first shot)
2\. Tuiaki
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tupou/Brown (depending on who's fullback)

6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

8\. Keith Galloway

If I had my way, (and assuming all players were fully fit and available) my full team would be:

1\. Chris Lawrence
2\. Taniela Tuiaki
3\. Blake Ayshford
4\. Mitch Brown
5\. Tame Tupou/Geoff Daniella

6\. Benji Marshall
7\. Tim Moltzen

8\. Keith Galloway
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Matt Scott/Ben Ross/Sam Burgess
11\. Chris Heighington
12\. Gareth Ellis
13\. Simon Dwyer

14\. Arana Taumata
15\. Daine Laurie
16\. Bryce Gibbs
17\. Alan Schirnack/Todd Payten

If you wanted to keep Lawrence at centre you could switch him with Brown, or put Gallant back there, but I still like the idea of getting the ball in Lawrence's hands as much as possible. He could have a similar impact to Karmichael Hunt when returning the ball and would be devastating following up Galloway and Ellis around the middle of the ruck.
