Dont write off Jennings, there'll be some humble pie eating me thinks

I have him and Corey fighting for a wing spot.
Not sure who the coach will go with...

Physically Jenko is better, but going off 2019 performances Corey is way ahead.

Lets see how it plays out.

I doubt Maguire is going to assume 80 minutes at hooker for a debutant, especially one who's really young. If Mbye's locked in at centre either Reynolds or Walters will get a 14 jersey.

Why not Talau 14. Ease him in to centre with mbye to hooker

I would have Mbye at hooker but now moved to centre with Grant at 9

Agree left wing is the only open spot in the backline ATM.

I'd like this to run out round 1:

1. Douehi
2. Thompson
3. Mbye
4. Leilua
5. Nofoaluma
6. Benji
7. Brooks
8. Twal
9. Grant
10. Packer
11. Garner
12. Leilua
13. Aloiai

14. Reynolds
15. Mikaele
16. Musgrove
17. Chee-Kam

18. ET

Can't see why Packer makes so many teams here. I'd be shocked if he is named r1. Imo he needs to show something in cc first. Was not a good 2019 for him, albeit carrying an injury. He is a gap filler for injuries in 2020 imo. He is not the future, so hopefully the focus is on younger guys like Mikaele and Ollie Clark.

Spot on. He lost his spot to injury and diabolical form last year and his position was taken by a few young blokes who played well. They deserve to start ahead of him at this stage and he has to earn it back

1. Doueihi
2. Nofo
3. BJ
4. Mbye
5. Thompson
6. Benji
7. Brooks
8. Musgrove
9. Grant
10. Aloiai
11. Lucy
12. Garner
13. Twal

14. Mikaele
15. Packer
16. ET
17. Reynolds/Walters

I can't understand the change in opinion of him in the off season. Has to start in reggies and earn a shot.

He has proven himself previously. If he's training well and has the right mindset Madge will pick him. I'm not privy to any info other than the news or forum but from what I have read I'm optimistic he will lead the pack
But if he does start and form isn't there i can't see him making it back once dropped.

I cannot see Packer starting the season. He has been injured again, has only just started running and has not completed a preseason. He will need minutes in his legs before being considered for first grade.

Thats just about the best round 1 team we can put on the park.

Descent size all around, RT and Chhe cam can cover for the Backs

Yeah that's why I put him in. New year, clean slate. Let him go out there and prove his worth because we could really use his experience and leadership given our fairly young pack. Doesn't work out fine, we've got other options but I'd be aiming to have him fit, firing and motivated for Round 1. Mikaele will be better off the bench.

I don't think there's any chance of a planned mid-game shuffle of the back line. If Mbye starts at centre he's meant to play 80 there, not drop into hooker for the last 20 or whatever. I might be wrong and it would theoretically be a clever way of saving an interchange, but I can't imagine a coach being willing to break up his defensive structure and attacking combinations just to save an interchange.

I for one (being his greatest critic) won't be eating humble pie if he comes good - that is for sure.

He owes us big time already - all he did in 2019 was drag his big fat body around at each ground and do nothing. Bludging like his brother Michael.

So even if he has a great year - divide that two year contract by two and it only comes up with an ordinary or average two years.

That does not warrant eating humble pie.

Regardless of a good or bad year in 2020 - get rid of the dope.

I agree, he hasn't played in god knows how long - I'd start Clark ahead of Packer as he has a better motor.

Packer to C Cup then.
He sucks anyway.

Gutless coward.

Sorry not sorry.

Harsh Demps.

At his best Packer is very good.

He is fit and his attitude seems right. Could have a very good year

We need new faces from the lower grades in the NRL team in addition to the new buys. Talau (left centre) and Seyfarth (13 or interchange). Other players who some believe are automatic selections eg Aloiai perhaps need to start in CC to really earn selection in the NRL. Aloiai has so much going for him but either injury or inconsistant form prevents him from achieving his gifts.

One thing I noticed with Aloiai last year was he had strong games when coming off the bench but struggled when starting. I think he’s too good to leave in CC unless Madge thinks he needs to build fitness or confidence given his return from injury. Assuming he’s fit, he’d be first player picked on my bench.
