Wests Tigers 2021 Draw

Every year the have a team they want to win. Last year was Parra, but Parra being Parra, they messed it up. Maybe they've penciled in 2021 as the year of the Wests Tigers 🏉🏆🐅

Draw overall favorable considering where team finished last season and one big factor is no 5 day turn around games.

The 1st 4 rounds will know where the team are at win at least 2 of these games and sets us up for a competitive crack at the Top 8. Also best to play these teams earlier as some teams will still be working on combinations.

Our roster overall is still light and may still struggle to make the 8 this season however.

Interesting fact early on we seem to have a number of games on 9 on the Sunday afternoon, does this mean the viewers deem us a team worth watching in relation to ratings????

AWESOME

Yeah, and much better than WT choice to again give the eels the advantage at their home ground, when comparing the improved chance of getting the all important two competition points playing at a different home ground.

not a bad draw. Happy with a tough 1st month, we tended to have good starts recently then fall over mid way. Loving Sunday games perhaps I don't have to line Murdochs pockets this year, tough to watch as the kid plays sport, but let's see how it works out.

the draw would be amazing with a decent squad though - top 4 draw

Yeah, with the first 5 games one could save the Kayo subs for a month and buy a game day GA membership deal for the Easter Monday match with the savings.

Here is all you need to know about the Wests Tigers' 2020 Telstra Premiership draw.

The Lowdown
Teams they play twice
**Bulldogs, Cowboys, Dragons, Eels, Knights, Panthers, Rabbitohs, Sea Eagles, Warriors**

Teams they play once
**Broncos, Raiders, Roosters, Sharks, Storm, Titans**

Day-by-day breakdown
Friday – 5, Saturday – 6, Sunday – 12, Monday – 1

Turnarounds
5 days – 0, 6 days – 8, 7+ days – 15

Kick-off
The heat will be turned up on the Tigers from the get-go. They've drawn 2020 heavyweights Canberra (away) and Sydney Roosters (home) in the opening two weeks before matches against fellow finalists Newcastle (away) and Parramatta (home) to conclude an onerous first month.

Five key match-ups

Sea Eagles (Round 7, Bankwest Stadium; Round 19, Central Coast Stadium): Could the Fibros and Silvertails rivalry be revived? If wantaway Tigers prop Josh Aloiai ends up playing for Manly in 2021 as he wishes then tensions may rise.

Panthers (Round 13, Leichhardt Stadium; Round 24, Panthers Stadium): What a battle this has become. As long as Ivan Cleary is coaching Penrith, Wests Tigers fans will hold a grudge against him. And there was genuine feeling between the teams when they last met.

Broncos (Round 18, Suncorp Stadium): Brisbane will be out to prove a point after the Tigers embarrassed them 48-0 last season. Regardless of how the Broncos are travelling, coming away from Suncorp with a win is always a boost – one that could springboard the Tigers into the run home.

Storm (Round 15, AAMI Park): Hooker Harry Grant could go from starring for the Tigers to tearing them apart having rejoined the Storm after a successful loan stint in 2020.

Representative winger Josh Addo-Carr was poised to sign with the Concord club for 2021 but is now staying at Melbourne, adding to the theatre of this clash.

Knights (Round 3, McDonald Jones Stadium; Round 10, Suncorp Stadium): After the Tigers dished out a 46-4 belting in late 2019, Newcastle responded by thumping them 42-24 and 44-4 last season. Michael Maguire's men will be determined to turn the tables.

Toughest stretch
As mentioned above, the Tigers face a thorough examination of their credentials in the first month.

But they'll also have to navigate a difficult patch from rounds 13-16 with games against Penrith (home), Parramatta (away), Melbourne (away) and South Sydney (home). At least there's a bye at the end of that block.

Round 23's clash with Cronulla will be held at Tamworth's Scully Park. The Tigers took matches to the venue in 2018 and '19.

Easily? So a team like Brisbane will easily finish in front of us?

Brisbane have got a harder draw than us

Wooden spooners two timers 2021

Only one trip up to QLD is probably good. Particularly given it's against Brisbane. The Titans will be good next year so avoiding that roadtrip is great. I've never seen the Tigers on a Sunday arvo before so I look forward to that one.

Oh wait we're playing Newcastle up here in the magic round. Cool.

Can someone tell me how to buy tickets to the Tamworth game. Want to get in early?

The draw released today is still very dependant on Covid..it may still change...

Tickets at a guess will be available a month prior to the game

Teams too big to allow that to happen. They’re a chance but their squad is still better than ours
