Wests Tigers "big news" at 3pm 2/10/14

Moving from Camp Concord into a training facility that meets the requirements of a Football team in 2015 and not 1908.

Only guessing but a move to Homebush is what I would be putting my money on

This would be the best news we have had all year for mine - poor , old facilities are costing us new signings, increasing injuries and length of injuries and general performance more then lots of other factors for mine. Don't mind if it's Homebush or somewhere else but as long as they are state of the art

I hope it's a video of Jason Taylor flicking a cigarette into a stream of gasoline that then ignites Concord Oval, burning it to the ground.
Taylor then pops the collar on his new Wests Tigers polo shirt, walking off infront of the burning rubble of Concord Oval looking like a complete badass.

I'm praying that this news is regarding our training base. We simply cannot afford to stay at Concord (not even sure we're allowed due to westconnex). Potter labelled the facilities as "stuck in the 80's" and the results show for themselves. For me this was problem number 1 for the club. It won't be surprising to see a drop off in injuries should we move to a better suited facility.

They are on the move out of Concord one way or another, the place is going to be used in the extension of the motorway to connect with the city west link, and I think the eviction date is soon.

Its just a matter of where, Liverpool council are keen to get them out into the South West, I just think Homebush might end up getting the nod. Anyway might be way off track and they have secured a major sponsor. Lets hope it is "Big News" and not just some fluff, always a bit of a let down when they talk something up and turns out to be a "small fish story"

Hopefully it will be that a couple of death riders on here get on board or get out of here, because nothing the club does is good enough for them, and no signing would be good enough for them.
No coach could possibly tick all their boxes,no CEO would be befitting of the WestsTigers club,so they are never gonna be happy, but we can live in hope.

Yep. I don't get all the negativity.

No it is source!

Moltzen retiring to take up a role as a knee and rehab consultant

Chris Lawrence retiring to train as 100m sprinter for the next Olympics

Big Red moving to Penrith to be near Gus

Big Izzy flicking union to return to his roots

Than I woke up!!!

The big news is to a confirm a new sponsor. Major sponsor, I don't know but its nothing too crazy from what I was told today.. just a good news article to drag us further away from the crap over the last couple of months (hence the twitter and internal media beat up)

would love to see a move of training facilities to somewhere in the 21st century

I would be happy with that as I'd almost be prepared to put money on us sustaining less injuries next season.

so, why are we waiting until 3pm? I hate this "oh we have big news, stayed tuned!" garbage.

builds up a little bit of anticipation and excitement.

the same reason movies have big release dates, or the iphone. they don't go, oh yea itll come out in the next few days, we'll let you know when it happens.

Any of our mooted signings are not big news. Nor are the announcements of new assistant coaches etc.

Heck, the club didn't even give the announcement of our new coach or GM an intro like this!

My guess would be an agreement on a new training base.

Knowing our club it's probably just that we've got a new shoelace provider…

Please read the post immediately prior to your post. Take it to heart.

Maybe Galloway was the sauce.

the warriors just announced their head of strength and conditioning is leaving could be a coincidence but also what we need

Vodafone Warriors general manager football Dean Bell has announced head of athletic development Carl Jennings is leaving the club.

Jennings has been at Mount Smart Stadium for two years after being appointed by former head coach Matthew Elliott in late 2012 to head up the strength and conditioning department.

"Carl has made a big contribution to the Vodafone Warriors with the work he has done in our high performance operation," said Bell.

"He has overseen major improvements in our resources and facilities notably the design and installation of the gymnasium which is now recognised as one of the best facilities in the NRL.

"We really appreciate all Carl has done at the club but he understands Cappy (head coach Andrew McFadden) is now looking to build his own team around him in the football department.

"Carl goes with our best wishes and we thank him for his efforts."

Jennings has worked as a leading strength and conditioning coach for more than 18 years.

"I'm disappointed to be leaving but I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here," he said.

"We've made a lot of progress with the players from where we started with them in late 2012 and I feel they're on the right track.

"Along with my family I'll take away a lot of good memories."

Bell said a decision was yet to be made about a replacement to head the club's strength and conditioning department.
