Funding was from Canada Bay Council, State Government, the PCYC and I think WT chipped in a bit too. Feds wouldn't have chipped in much, if anything, and this is a legitimate project not a handout for a mate

Wasn't the whole sports rorts for marginal Nationals seats? The Libs won Reid with a comfortable 2PP majority despite a 1.5% swing against them.

I saw an invitation for demolition tenders in the Western Suburbs Courier 1-2 months ago, hopefully progress will be fast once it gets started.

Funds will be supplied through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development for this exciting redevelopment.

So nothing to do with the sports grants at all!

WESTS TIGERS SEASON LAUNCH
Reid is home to the Wests Tigers, and it was wonderful to attend their 2020 NRL Season Launch this month. The Federal Government's $5 million commitment to the re-development of Concord Oval, including the Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence, will make a huge difference to community sporting groups in Reid including the Wests Tigers, the West Harbour Rugby Club and the Inter Lions Soccer Club. Concord Oval was last redeveloped in 1985 and while the playing surface is frequently used, the facilities are due for an upgrade. Funds for the re-development will be supplied through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development for this exciting redevelopment.
