Can someone tell me if the long term deal with ANZ is a good deal or was it stupid and how long the deal is for?

10 years and the club is guaranteed at least $100,000 even if the crowd is pitiful. To make a profit at Leichhardt I recall the figure of around 12,000 to make a profit.

10 years a long time wonder what current admin think of the deal.

venues like anz are killing the game imo.

I can pretty much assure we start winning games at either of our 5 home grounds and attendances will increase…in '05, '10 and '11 the house full sign went up a few times..

Gee just imagine maintaining a position in the 8 for a long period of a season..

House full just means we're locking people out. Great way to increase your fanbase.

Lol

We can't win either way :unamused:

Correct!!! If we're having a bad year those suburban grounds cost us a fortune. **_If we're having a good year we're turning fans away._**
Its a lose -lose situation.

Doesn't happen often if at all though does it?
Even during our rare good seasons

The sell outs don't happen often, no.
Any game that attracts 17k at our suburban grounds would get bigger crowds at ANZ though IMO.
Based on 13 years of crowd figures.

Maybe… Maybe not.
Makes no difference $$$ wise

Not in gate receipts anyway.
We won't find out unless they ever make the call, which looks like never. Hopefully the pokies keep ticking over.

4 x Sunday arvo games at Leichhardt a must take a look at the docco just released fans adore the great ground

Leichhardt is a cesspool and in need of significant upgrades if it is to rise above 3rd world standard. Docos are really the Producers bias and are rarely based on fact.

What a fantastic Cesspool it is, best Cesspool I have ever been to, or enjoyed.

Tradition will do me, something that cannot be bought. We are getting the best of both worlds at the moment. Those that want amenities can go to ANZ - those that want tradition can go to the Cesspool and CS. Solved.

Thing is are people going for the pies, beers, toilets etc. etc. or going for the football.

If you don't like LO - don't go, no one is breaking your arm.

Fourth world really. Poor facilities, poor access, parking zero.

No thanks.

Interesting that the governing body and it's financiers are at opposite ends on the stadium and local grounds issue, just as this forum is divided.

I am happy enough with the allocation for next year. ANZ is a mongrel to watch a game from, but has great facilities, public transport and parking really close to home game seating in P1\. Trouble is it also has and for want of a better description, no soul whatsoever.

Campbo has the rail station close by and a bit of reasonable parking available. The club next door, even though no longer really part of WT is also a bonus. Good areas around the ground for the theme days etc and a reasonable atmosphere with a decent crowd.

Leichhardt has atrocious outdated facilities, terrible parking, no train access, some light rail nearby and reasonable bus transport. On the other side of the coin, with close seating and a great hill along more than a full side rising from close to the playing surface it has a configuration that creates an unmatched atmosphere. The place has soul and even with only a half decent crowd provides an experience that all footy fans should sample at least once.

Hope that country NSW benefits from our other two games.

Never had a problem parking in 65 years. I don't get it.

What do you want, to park in the Keith Barnes stand?

Yep horses for courses. The facilities mean jack to me. I go to watch the footy, and for me you can't beat it. Stand on the hill rain hail or shine, know what I am going to get and couldnt care less about much else. In a time of chaotic over development its a gem, and I wiil continue to treasure it and support its right to host games while ever it lasts.

well put tails will be a very sad day in our household when they close the gates just like the leagues club rocked our whole family

One of my best friends (Roosters supporter) wants me to take him to LO next season so he can tick it off his bucket list, he's heard so many great stories about the hill at LO it's a must for him to see.
Long live LO.

I rather go to L.O and stand on the Hill enjoying the atmosphere and passion than sit in a comfortable chair and at a dead ground.
