Wests Tigers are pleased to confirm its extended Jersey Flegg squad for the 2022 campaign, which will see the team feature under a new Coach in Scott Kenna.

Kenna, who coached previously at junior levels with Manly-Warringah and NSW U/18’s City Origin, has spent the past few seasons involved with the Wests Tigers Academy program and as Head Coach of the Balmain Tigers’ SG Ball program.

After a strong season that saw the team sitting top of the table and undefeated prior to the competition shut-down, Wests Tigers will again have their eyes set on a positive campaign in 2022 with a number of new local juniors promoted to the squad.

Talented local juniors Brendon Tumeth, Justin Matamua, Henry O’Kane and Michael Tannous will all spend time with the extended NRL squad to start pre-season, along with Lomi Saukuru, Trey Peni, Kade Hill, Fonua Pole, Bray Guyan and Tyrone Roberts.

Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg side will begin their pre-season training preparations in the coming weeks with initial trial matches to take place in late December. The current extended squad will then be updated to a finalised squad in the lead-up to the competition officially starting in March next year.

Hopefully this means most of last season's stars will feature in KOE next year to further their development.

He was Balmain SG Ball coach last year, really impressed me in the games I saw.

Delivered clear and direct messages to the players and did his best with a squad with a fair few injuries to key players.

Possibly a spine of

1 Thomas
6 Tannous
7 Hill
9 Anjoul

Looks pretty strong!

Provided they stay healthy, yes. I really hope Tannous can make up for lost time coming back from his ACL. I think the squad looks pretty decent once again and should be vying for the top 8. I think we once again have good centres and backrowers. Front row might be a little bit of a concern as far as depth goes.

Where is Dudley and that Cathane fella..

Dudley got named in SG Ball with Herman and a few others from Queensland. I think Cathane will be there too.

As i said in the other thread. Dudley and Cathane played in the Mal Meninga Cup final this season for the Blackhawks. Narrow loss to Tweed.

I presume all qld boys will spend the offseason training with first grade and then with flegg and maybe start with Ball in jan-feb if it's still deemed necessary.

Yeah possibly, just saying they’ve only been named in SG Ball at this stage.

I remember seeing a video of Jacob Anjoul a few years ago. There was a lot of hype around him.

Hoping Mikey Tannous recovers well from injury and plays well. He was pushing at a FG spot before his injury.

Tannous was nowhere near FG prior to his injury sorry - he was slated to play SG Ball for Balmain before stepping up to Flegg once the SG Ball season was over. The injury curtailed that but he definitely was not in line for FG.

My bad must have heard wrong. He was training with FG at some point though right?

Yes, he did the pre-season leading up to Christmas with them - the standout SG Ball and Flegg players get that opportunity.
