knew this was some telecrap trash as soon as i read the headline

Why is it trash? Long term it has to happen.

Why does it have to happen ?

Because the area is booming. Other teams know this and is why they've tried to move in on it.

It has to happen in your eyes because your the first in when it comes to the demise of Balmain .
And don't deny it !

ANZ is the future like it or not .
Cambeltown is too far from the main corridor for starters , And what's it booming with besides the highest unemployment rate and Asian bakeries …Please ...

They might not base themselves in Ctown per'se, but Marina Go and Co have already earmarked the area as a key to our future by sounding that they want the club to eventually set up base in Liverpool.

How about alienating half the supporter base? dumb, dumb, dumb. Just when the club was on the up, the lunatics are let out of the asylum.

Well, you'll find that a large number of the supporter base have already felt alienated for yrs and halve walked away from the club. I suppose that's different though.

All this is just rediculously dumb. Timing, rationale, thought process. It's so childish, it's like a kid who doesn't want to share. The club was doing so well! The tigers have a bright future, we're winning games and for once there is stability and some vision. These amature hour nutjobs better not get control of the club.

Gee, I bet the players can't wait to move to Liverpool 😕

Whatever you say Simon. I'm an advocate for the South West. Apologies if you can't see the difference between caring about that and Wests v Balmain crap.

Yeah, it's a shocking place for an NRL player to live. That's why half the Bulldog squad live out here.

our long term future is a ground where we pay tens of thousands of $s to play at and recorded a 10k average the last 3 years?

doesnt sound like a bright future

Yeah, an area with a population of nearly 150 000 people. Not bright at all.

And where are they ?

We get a Crowd of 10,917 at Campbelltown on a Saturday afternoon , 1st game of the year .

At Leichardt…..Monday Night footy , on a working Day and school Day with all those arrangements and still get a Crowd of 11,269 . 😱pen_mouth:

Fair enough GNR, there is nothing wrong with wanting your club to be closer to your home and caring. Completely understand.

But to say that it "needs" to happen is a tad dramatic. Maybe it's the emotion of it all.

Just as much as you want them to be located in your area, we want the same here in the inner-west. The club is a merger, it represents two distinct areas that are unique and pretty distant. On that alone, I think the way it is now works. I also wouldn't be opposed to an extra 2 games in the south-west to achieve a 50/50 split.

It needs to be viewed from a neutral point of view, otherwise people's emotions get in the way of constructive discussion.

Who knows. Penrith have an even bigger population and got a similar figure for the Bulldogs game last week. Parra was similar too against the Cowboys if i'm not mistaken. Crowd numbers across the board are down.

That negates the whole it "needs" to happen argument.

The population in Western Sydney is booming, yet NRL crowds are declining. Conversely, the Western Sydney Wanderers have a waiting list for memberships and have much better crowds on average.

Do the math..

I have yet to meet a Wests Tigers supporter who feels alienated….. just saying. I have however come across those who have by choice alienated themselves from the Wests Tigers.

I'm not the only one who thinks that the area is the future. A lot of people believe the same thing (even ex Balmain fans Hobbo 😱pen_mouth: )

I get that there are some who don't feel the same though and that's alright.

Not just in Western Sydney. The LO crowd was low too, but i decided to let that one go at the risk of it being labeled Balmain bashing.

Which is about a quarter of the Penrith economic catchment area, the area that has the 4th highest local support percentage (nth qld, Newcastle, Brisbane are the highest ). Penrith also has significantly more mid size corporates.
Penrith is only just big enough to support an NRL side.

150k people is a lot of people, but not enough still.

I think the majority of games at ANZ is the answer with smaller games played at CSS and Leichhardt.

I'm a football (sokkah,) lover but let's compare apples for apples here. Sydney FC and WSW are a two team town and playing out of season. Even if they were pulling 30K each a week, average that out over nine Sydney based clubs and you'd have averages worse than anything a Rugby League club would pull. If they were competing head on with NRL they'd get annihilated.

On us, we should move to Liverpool. Still in a huge growth area, located similarly from our heartlands and it's not a soulless pit like ANZ. If they ever gave a 35K stadium a run there, we need to get behind it. One stadium more central than either Leichhardt or Campbelltown.

The lowest crowd of any NRL game this season was in the booming south-west. Round one on a saturday afternoon. That's no surprise considering this has been the case for the last few years

If a booming population was of any benefit to the Tigers you'd think that wouldn't be the case ? :brick:

I REPEAT ! A booming population in the west is not benefiting anyone EXCEPT the Wanderers. :brick:

You can't use the Leichardt has low attendances as well argument because no one in the inner-west is campaigning to play permanent games there and move away from the south-west.

There has to be logical reasoning in abandoning one area and moving to another area on a permanent basis. As it stands there is no logical reasoning.. THAT IS MY POINT :brick:

Come on guys and girls, every things looking positive on and off the field lets put this childish stuff to the side and enjoy the ride.

It isn't going to happen anytime soon anyway, the board isn't that stupid no matter where their loyalties lie.
