Wests Tigers faction saw Benji Marshall as waste of money

That's the problem.

His game style wasn't suited as a half back in our team and he didn't change his style to become what we needed as a half back. We needed a half back to offer an alternative form of attack and to direct the team around to stop benji from trying to do everything.

ie. Benji needs another dominate half with him to be effective no matter if he plays in the 6 or 7

Didnt Benji prove this year that he doesnt need a dominant half to be effective? I think the balance of Farah at 9, Benji running the show at 6 and our 7 pretty much being a 5/8 like Moltzen works surprisingly well. Benji is flourishing with the added responsibility, i'd hate to take that off him now.

When fit, Benji is everything he promises to be, but how often has he been fit over the last 4 years?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, would anyone be slagging Wests if Benj had been injured for the majority of the season again this year ...

As for Sheens ... pfft ... He has tried to play each side off each other before. Even if the alleged is true, why as head coach would you knock one half of the club to a journo? The sooner the JV is rid of him the better.
