Queensland’s No.1 jersey may be up for grabs but Ben Barba has all but ruled himself out of contention, admitting State of Origin is an unrealistic goal at the age of 29.
Former Dally M Medallist Barba is available for Origin selection in 2019 after returning from the UK Super League to sign a one-year NRL deal with North Queensland.

He has never played for Queensland but his chances of finally donning the Maroons jersey have improved after Billy Slater’s retirement and Valentine Holmes’s shock departure to chase his NFL dream.

Don't think we'll have anyone. Mbye jumps out of the gate he might be on the fringe for QLD origin. I'd like to say Matterson but I reckon Victor Radley might leap frog him in terms of up and comers for the Blues.

i think we have a 30% chance of any WS players making origin

Radley might shade him because he can cover hooker but overall Matterson has the better utility value - he can cover centre, 5/8, 2nd row, lock and prop and do a good job of it. Radley is the sort of goer that the Blues like to pick though.

Mitch Pearce has been judged harshly imo. I have no doubt that if he was the 7 in origin this year, NSW would still have one. Cleary Jnr did bugger all.
Pearce suffered from not having quality players around him and always up against the Storms big 3 and JT.

No Tigers in Origin next year.

imo cleary hardly touched the ball in all 3 origin games

He had slightly fewer possessions than Maloney in games 1 and 2 and then a lot more than Maloney in game 3\. Overall he had more possessions than Maloney over the course of the series…

Don't forget the Roosters factor.

Mbye has a real good season and Qld has some injury issues at the back you never know

Daylight next , Brooks is probably NSW No 3 7 currently behind Cleary ,Pearce

Noone is more than a 'bolter'.

Mbye (Is 3rd or 4th in the pecking order for both FB & Utility)
Brooks (IF Cleary and Pearce went down maybe)
Matterson (Would need 4 or so backrowers to go down)
Lawrence (As above)

Don't see anyone else getting a look in in any capacity. Farah, Nofo, Thompson, Reynolds are not in the picture anymore/never were.

Just remember no Slater , no Boyd , unlikely that Inglis would move back so that leaves Ponga , he has had some injuries already , then the next contender behind Mbye is probably Jamayne Isakko
