Yes but as a club we are moving away from the Balmain and west magpie past, and now moving forward as west tigers. As I said early during heritage round those pins could be a option as per what u mentioned

I'd definitely be happy with greats from Wests and Balmain.
With a small dossier of their greatness attached. That would be great.

I understand we have to move on,and i encompass the amalgamation, but their is no reason to diminish the past of two great clubs and the brilliant players who seem to be forgotten.Saintgeorge/Illawarrarra still talk of Gasnier,Raper and Langlands with pride ,why can,t we. Lets grow up and enjoy our history, two of the great clubs and joining as one.

I would be extremely disappointed if they did that. We are the Wests Tigers, not Balmain and not Western Suburbs.

Jo Tiger,-Noel KELLY one of the toughest front rowers ever.Peter Diamond a beast and brilliant centre.Tommy Radonikis tough and underated in other areas, JOHN ELLFORD created the crash tackle and terrorised the Poms.Benny Ellias ,changed the way hookers played -a genious.Geoff Starling starred on Kangroo tour, got glandular fever never to play again 17yrs old.Fullbacks for AUS before Teddy,Barnes also captain,Gary Jack -rates best player in the world by poms,Brasher.Sirronon rated best forward in the world by Poms The list goes on.All forgotten because of stupidity.

Because St Gilly was a take over. Interestingly you didnt mention any Illawarra players, not Michael Bolt, Dean Schiffiliti.

We are a true merger an we are now WT.

OF course and i love the merger of two great sides, but the great players of the past were the foundation of the great west tigers and should be included and not forgotten,. We have been united as one for a long time now, time to put pettiness aside.

I think we're just about there, that we can do this.

For me, I found the merger hard when it first was mentioned. I was mourning the death of my old club. But then I tried to embrace the new club, bought a season pass and tried to look forward.

There has been tension between our two halves as neither wants to be forgotten or pushed down by the other. But when the Wests side said they would help the Balmain side out of their financial issues, in very reasonable and fair (gracious even) terms, I think our partnership was finally sealed.

I would be happy for Wests Tigers to honour our legends, Robbie, Benji, and include all the Raudonikis and Elias of the past. Our club has so much great history down both paths of the family tree, and it's all ours. Some people may not agree, and that's fair enough, but I think we're ready to look forward and celebrate our awesome past.

16 premierships all up, that's not bad.

All true but they are not Wests Tigers legends.

Please permit me to say one more thing for now if I may. I'll be short.

For me it was Balmain growing up, they were my team. And now, I still look back upon the players I saw in the team jersey and I remember them as champions who wore the colours of my team.

Now my team has changed, evolved (merged), but I still see champions in my team colours. For me it is the same. The name is different, the team is different, the style different, just about everything is different, but the feeling I get when my team wins or loses is the same, and that's what draws me.

But that's just me, a single viewpoint amongst hundreds or thousands or millions perhaps.

The idea is to give Wests Tigers more identity..you can still respect the heritage of the foundation Clubs ..

But it's time we started with our own Farah Marshal Hodgson Skandalis Fulton Gibbs Galea Ellis include blokes like Tuiaki Dwyer who killed their bodies for our club...plenty of time to grow..

past wests and tigers players can be recognised in another format I think. this is perfect for past wests tigers players

Yes by all means in another format, but for Wests Tigers membership inclusion then past Wests Tigers players.

That last line JD helps the optomism that is sometime missing in this forum, all sides have had a bad run, ours is nearly over.

People complain about the Wests Tigers having a lack of their own identity so this is about creating our own identity our own history. To create a history so when the media want the opinion of a club legend they are going to someone who is a legend of our club, not one of the parent clubs. Lets replace the Elias, Blocker and Raudonikis being the representation and voice of our history with players who played for our club.

Lets respect the history of our 2 parent clubs but move on and start to recognise our own history as one united club.
