Just a little expansion from the 2021 jersey poll, how would we all feel about a secondary logo used for away/alternative jerseys ? below ive attached two normal tigers jersey with current logo and two with a secondary logo personally i wouldn't mind having a secondary logo for alt jersey

No have one logo, but I wouldn't mind seeing the current logo updated.

Id love to see the logo updated as well like its a great logo but we need a fresh look to it

logo is in need of a much-needed update. the club looks to implement the tiger head across a lot of its media releases and so forth, but even then I'd look at starting again almost completely. its 2021, not 2000.

Well I have been sitting on this for a few months, as I wasn't sure if it was legit or not, but I have had some more information that likely backed up what I already had.

The Tigers will (likely) be getting an updated logo next season.

I have only seen a glimpse of it (happened to get a look at a game earlier in the year when I got a look at a phone screen of a Tigers staff member that had the current jersey design, but with a different logo on it), but from what I saw we are dropping everything from the logo but the Tigers head.

Basically the new updated logo is what you see on all NRL branding (the Tigers head by itself), except it is still in full colour and not monochrome. Underneath the head will be the team name, but it looks like it will be a very simple and small text on a single line.

I was unable to get a good look at how the text exactly looks (as I only got a few seconds look and it was very small on a phone screen, but it seemed very similar to how the text below the NRL logo looks on the jerseys and did not look to be a design like on the current logo, rather just a font in line with what Newcastle did with their logo, though the text will be smaller due to the number of letters.

I get the idea of making the change, but I have to say I was not impressed with how it looked and seems very much like a downgrade.

We differently need an update of the logo - very 2000s.

But a brand update should be matched with a revamp of the organisation- which it at least seems like we are semi going through

I like the tigers head as a compromise solution (I understand that the logo is protected under the constitution when we merged?)

I also like the WT logo that you see on some promotional material.

This is very much needed

Well they have stuffed everything else up so they may as well stuff up the logo as well.

You are very much on the money here mate. I actually think the new logo you are talking about would look better with the sharp whiskers removed.

You are very much on the money here mate. I actually think the new logo you are talking about would look better with the sharp whiskers removed.

I have no issues with the whiskers. I just feel that the new look was simplifying a logo that shouldn't have been simplified (as it was not really designed to be. The head alone just looks out of place, and the text an afterthought.

The current logo may be a little dated (certainly something from the late 90's, early 2000's era), but if the text is like I think it is the logo basically loses all of its personality.

It also makes it seem like the NRL went "this is the logo we are going to use from now on in our simplified logo catalogue, so you need to use it as well so we are on the same page". And "as we use a generic font for our premiership text, you do the same".

If the club wanted to update the logo, they needed to redo the logo completely, not just click on elements and hit delete, then add a basic font.

Also @cochise as you sound like you have gotten a better look, would you say the font is very much like the new WT "Membership" text under the head logo?

Not a big fan of that second logo because it looks like a mangey stray animal.

In fact if anyone can remember The Good King Leonardo cartoon Show and the characters in it, it reminds me of Itchy Brother who was the dumb side kick of Biggy Rat.
