Interesting to see Chisholm quickly moved to Fullback with a view to NRL?!

Perhaps Watto, he brings ballplaying ability and a kicking game which could prove handy, plus he's a decent defender.

BRET will need to improve massively if they are going to test the Sharks.

I believe Nu is on a Mormon mission from what people have said.

Port is a creative little fullback but does not support through the ruck, Chisolms defence was scetchy at best in round 1.

Major problem remains though in that Waters is there and meaney is a fullback/winger and not a centre

The magpie team may have been raped of its players, but don't confuse the BRET as the Nsw cup Wests tigers.

Where has Nu ended up?

Nu Akepira is a very talented footballer but unfortunately injuries got the better of him ,2010 was his most damaging year for the Magpies in my opinion ,was one of those forwards who liked to skirt out wide on the fringes had a good step for a forward and an uncanny act of unloading under pressure. No doubt would have made grade if not for injuries.. He actually spent time as a centre as well .Not sure where he is these days but i hope he makes a comeback soon, he is too good not to.

How does the pom go?

Looks like theyre not biting Watty

Jack Spencer looks pretty fit Ink, but he's no front rower, he's just way too light to play in the front row and is cannonfodder when he hits it up. Not doubting his ticker, but the way he plays is just not well suited out here from what I've seen. Hopefully he improves throughout the year.

Getting pumped by all reports.

The call up of Moors and BMM really exposes the lack of prop/big man depth

BRET were always going to struggle against a Sharks side full of NRL experience. I'll be interested to hear how Grant went.

Certainly wasnt a fun sunday arvo at Leichhardt.

Unfortunately no one did enough to warrant NRL selection. Chisolm played well and was heavily involved, but when i watch State Cup i look for players that are clearly a class above, he didnt show me that. Good player though, and would handle first grade.

Bell did his job and was probably our best forward along with Davis who was solid.

Marc Russell deserves special mention. His involvement for a half in a well beaten side was outstanding and i would really like to see how he goes behind a better pack and without Waters beside him.

Linc Port was terrible on the wing but when moved to fullback looked very good. But id be afraid he'd get snapped in half if he ever played NRL…very very skinny.

One thing is for certain, if theres a promising movement evolving, Nathan Waters will ruin it. I hate to say something like that, but unfortunately, his time as a State Cup player are over.

I only got to see the second half but agree with Sirro about Bell and the lack of forward depth. And hate to pile onto Waters but he isn't the answer for that team. They also just dropped a lot of ball and missed a lot of tackles. I don't know what to say about Grant: he is very quick - chasing down a Sharks player who had a real head start on him easily. And he did score. But the Sharks also made a few busts down his side, so don't know if his defensive positioning was the reason.

Overall disappointing day. Sharks too good. Sisa Waqa looked great for the Sharks BTW.

This was the case last season but as he has a second tier WT contract they have to play him
