Regarding advertising $, the ads you see on this site (as Kul recently referred to) and the podcast site barely cover the cost of hosting. What we do has nothing to do with money, we’re all employed full time elsewhere and contribute our time/expertise for nothing in return than our love for the club and our hope of better times.

I would say the vast majority of posters on here would welcome you back and asap.You always posted reasonable comments and were well respected on here as are the others who no longer post on here.This forum is largely diminished by the loss

Discord is a free open platform that is completely different to a traditional website. It’s like comparing Twitter and WTF. Even a cursory glance at both platforms could’ve helped with your confusion.

This website requires $$$ to run. $$ that are driven by clicks. These blokes know that and it’s the reason that they now advertise their website on the pod and the same reason they come here to pump it. The more traffic they can get on their forum the more $$$$. The same thing cochie was accusing @kul of doing.

Do you think if cochie and the other one were still mods that this would even be a thing? That they would have a separate site and advertise it here?

No, it's exactly the same. It doesn't matter if the platforms are different, you are arguing about competition for users.

Demps' Discord group takes "clicks" away from this forum. There can be no argument about that. The Discord was specifically created to provide an alternative type of Tigers discussion, with the emphasis being advertised (on this forum) as being "more like a pub chat, with banter" and less moderation. There are users from this forum who have migrated heavily or entirely to the Discord.

Of course users can choose to spend equal time on Discord and the WTF, or on WTF and another forum entirely. Even Eddie's podcast itself competes for the spare time of potential forum users. Also, Discord or another forum can also refer users to the WTF. It's not as if WTF has killed off LU or vice versa.

Kul has no room to complain - and I don't see him complaining either, you are just doing it on his behalf and claiming to be acting in his best interests. Kul is the sole owner of this forum, and he created / permitted the conditions that led some people to complain about the previous style of moderation, and then he changed the forum conditions that encouraged some users to create their own alternative. If Kul's decisions change the quantity of advertising revenue (positive or negative), that's up to him.

Eddie and Joel are not spruiking their forum on here. They advertise their podcast only, and it's within their podcast that they promote their own forum. That alternative forum is brand new and it may become something entirely different to WTF.

For the record I don't have any vested interest in the podcast or their new forum - I'm not involved at all.

It's also not a competition.

What I can gather, Kul was worried that certain mods were pushing users away. Certain mods were punted. Now the punted mod comes back to advertise his new forum. Pretty sure Kul didnt sign up for that in 2018.

The podcast site literally has a link to this forum mate. The pod advertises this forum.

Hmm. So why start a completely new forum? Why not just keep it simple and have the podcast and WTF exist like it had in the past?

That is something Eddie and Joel have had planned for a long time to support the pod.

To be honest me no longer posting here has little to do with the mod issue, the role has been offered back to me anyway, it is more i don't feel comfortable post here at the moment. I copped a lot of personal abuse recently, mainly on another site, and don't wish to communicate with those people.

I think is poor form, classless and borderline pathetic, how ever you want to try to justify it.

I don't see the mods closing this due to the links they have with you so I guess its up to @kul. If he has no problem with it then who am i to say.

Yeah I'm sure their whole motivation in this is to grift a few bucks from website advertising, because it's such a bloody lucrative activity...you must have a busy season coming up because you are an absolute turkey baster.

Absolutely classless guys. Didn’t get past the opening but where you said your new forum is sponsoring the pod. Then you come here to advertise it.

This forum is kept going by @kul with the help of advertising. To do this he needs clicks. You’re literally looking at taking those clicks to your website. I know you’re upset your mates got punted but this is just cheap.
