@stevetiger said:I've heard it all now. Taylor as our long term coach.
@innsaneink said:@Benjirific said:To me, what he's saying is irrelevant. Why is a random board member (he's never been & never will be a power broker) talking out of school in the lead up to the biggest game the club has had in a few years? He wasn't even on the WT board until a couple of months ago. Pascoe & Go ought to be extremely peeved about people talking to the media - completely unnecessary, and comes across as Bailey wanting to take some limelight in a big week for the club.
Jeez benji, some might see your opinion as extremely screwed.
Whatever your stance on Robbie….surely support from the board toward the coach of your team can only be a good thing?
The power broker thing is merely a media headline, hardly anything to get worked up over...maybe they sought this particular random board member as many people remember him from his years on TV.
Pascoe and Go I would put money on them having endorsed this before hand and afterwards...hardly ''mostly sunny Mike'' seeking the limelight.
As for JTs future...myself I would be waiting until mid next year...if hes going well possibly a season extension...too soon to be talking long term imo
@Cultured Bogan said:Fluff piece backing the coach really. All it does is send the message that everyone within the club is on the same page and they are happy with the direction.
It's positive, why is anyone getting worked up over this?

@Glen McWilliams said:"The Robbie Farah situation is regrettable but the thing to remember is it's not a feud, it's about his assessment of Robbie in terms of what he can contribute to the team.
"That's another reason why Jason Taylor really does stand tall at the moment in terms of what he's been able to achieve with the team, particularly given we've been without the state's best hooker and in recent times without [the injured] James Tedesco as well."
Is this not a complete contradiction in the same statement? JT assessed Robbie and what he can contribute to the team which resulted in Robbie being dropped. OK, I'm with you
Then JT can stand tall because he's achieved things with the team without Robbie. Nup. Lost me.

Haha well spotted, yeah you can't afford plaudits based on that logic.

It's a problem when you have someone in a board position who grew up with a desire to be in the spotlight.

A board member has to be grounded enough to know it's not about them, its about the business.
He can't be in the media pre-empting decisions like this without it going through the board!!
I know I labour the point... but this restructure is going to be the worst thing to happen to us. It won't be overnight, but eventually the factions and ego-maniacs will return to drive us backwards.
