The former Rabbitoh will play out 2013 before joining English Super League Club Wigan on a two-year deal.

“It’s an opportunity just too good to pass up,” Pettybourne said.

“It’s something that’s always interested me and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I just reckon the time is right for me.

“I will leave Wests Tigers on good terms and appreciate the fact they have allowed me to challenge myself overseas.”

Pettybourne joined Wests Tigers this season after six years with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

“We haven’t had the chance to see the best of Eddie due to injuries but I am sure he will be a great asset to Wigan,’’ coach Mick Potter said.

I was pleased when we signed him but hasnt done much when hes played 1st Grade, probably best for both parties concerned he is going, hope we wont be paying any of his contract Money for next Year.

Good work Potter. He had plenty of chances and was even a go to man for Benji. He was garbage in the end.

Great move, I reckon.

I doubt we have the money for any big moves in the market, but we seem to be doing what we can with retention and smart signings.

Does it free up cap space for this year? Ie can brooks now play

Sorry just read it again. He will play out 2013 with us

I think even he was released this year it would be too late to add Brooks to the top 25 as that has to be done prior to June 30\. The only way to allow him to play NRL is via an exemption, thats my understanding anyway.

Shame, thought he was a pretty good signing, but yet again another player who gets worse and lazier at the Tigers. A good option for both parties, shame it wasn't before the June 30th deadline as Tasi became available, but was quickly snapped up by the Broncs. Good luck in the ESL.

now if we can somehow offload anasta, blair and benji so we can put together a dominant forward pack for our young halves to develop behind.

This is a good move and I wish him the best.

I expected more from him as he was a solid player at souths but has not lived up to expectation.

after round 1 or 2 when he played 20 minutes at the end and went really well I thought he was going to be a strong impact player for us, I nfortunately did not happen, he was poor
