It's a dangerous proposition, we have a further 10,000 homes to be completed in the MacArthur region in the next 3 years. That is the quickest growing supporter base I have ever heard of.

It would be a risk to leave the area in its development and growth stage, I definately could see Phil Gould making the trek down the m7, once or twice a year to clean up te mess we would have left!

Who's purchasing these homes?

Rugby League Fans??

Self Sufficient Home Owners with high disposable incomes???

I think not!

This is hilarious. Some piss ant councillor playing hard ball with us. Here's your $55k, now bugger off and dont call us again. Homebush has better facilities, in a better location, and will pay us for the priviledge.

Explain that to your constituents.

I'm so tired of this. Its hard to support your local team when its clear they don't give a crap about you, the fans, or the area. Worse than that they're actually annoyed by the locals. We're just not a club of the people anymore. We're some kind of mutant plaything for second rate, out of work executive officers and pompus wannabe Board Members who know zip about anything. We sell out our jersey until its a bogan billboard but still we have no money to pay out a Coach, or pay fees on our grounds! jeebus.

What is WT without Ctown. Without your Hodgos, Skandos, Gibbs' and Fultons? What is it without that old westie in his golstar magpies jersey he bought 20 years ago standing on the hill swearing at the ref with 4 cans of Draught in two hands. If you can't enjoy a game at CS as much as at LO then you don't know what your doing. I'm not saying they're the same, I love both.. because they are proper places to watch rugby league. Not some god awful cavern like ANZ.

What is it if you can't get wrecked at Wests or CC's or the Club hotel before/after a game?
Maybe its kinda handy for a few of the battlers out there that 3 weeks in a season you dont have to spend 3 and a half hours getting you and your x amount kids to a game. No-one seems to understand that any more. No-one cares about that any more.

when you're $9.5 million in debt, and literally PAYING to play games at LO/CS, and when there's an option to GET PAID to play at ANZ you're definitely going to at least consider playing less where you lose money and more where you make it.

i think playing at ANZ is a good option long term, and if Dave Smith is successful with boosting memberships over the next 3-4 years from 220k to 440k+ then every club will be recording 20k+ games at ANZ, if not 25k which is actually a decent atmosphere. it is a poor one when 10-15k rock up but 25+ is good in my experience.

Agree with a lot of what you are saying

The Tigers from 2005-2011 were most people's second favourite team , everyone loved to watch us play , we had some great footballers that were money in the bank Apart from not making many semi finals series we were the golden child's of the NRL

And where did it get us ??

9.5 million in debt , a basket case of a board , one leagues club basically defunct , the other doing its level best to destroy whats left of the other league's club

How did the fools in charge get it sooo wrong ?? Honestly

What a load of waffle.Wests Tigers routes are to strong. We need to build our membership base and attend people need to attend games.Simple stuff

That's an easy one Happy … Because we had the wrong people on the board. They don't have the business acumen to run a multi million dollars business. We had an olympic swimmer, plenty of ex footballers and later weatherman. Well intentioned people I am sure but just not the right skill sets to run a business like ours. We saw for example how they went about squandering the $8m they got in 2000 when the new team began. The best news to come out of this year for me is the Independant directors joining the board. Finally we may see some prudent and responsible decisions made at board level.

The six by six arrangement for Cambo and LO could have worked .... But we just didn't have the right people running the place to make it happen. It's only now we find ourselves nearly broke again that we get some change at board level. It has come late but hopefully not too late.

Lets hope for those applauding any future move to ANZ, the club doesn't squander the money it gets this time .... Because if they blow it again, I don't see any other lifelines to save us.

The multi-million "gift" from the NRL was certainly squandered, most of it on overpriced,over-the hill(sorry Terry) players. The JV,IMO,has been poorly run from day 1,2005 got a lot of poorly skilled people,on & off the field, a lot of breathing room but we are paying the penalty for it now in many aspects..My 2c.

The squandered opportunity to capitalise after 2005 should have seen a cleanout and re-structure.

The warning signs were there but not obvious to a fanbase so used to utter ineptness and unrecognisable sponsors that we didn't know what we were missing out on

Truth is different management would not have made a diff.

The team came 2nd last and should've won a comp a couple of years ago.

And half the JV has got financial issues.

Sad thing is the club has lost all its cult status.

Of course Magic…
Because this years premiers didn't go from wooden spooners to runners up to bottom feeders to premiers in the space of a few years!!
Management has nothing to do with it!! Politis got A golden boot winner... Sheens got Anasta!!
Take of the old black and white glasses brother!!

Easts assembled a top notch side and won it.
But where we we gunna get the money from to buy these dudes.

Agree coach made mistakes but were got no money.

Well said that man!

I think Wests Tigers are making a mistake by decreasing the number of games at Leichardt and Campbelltown. The fans are from these areas, let them watch their team at home, not at a souless and only partially full stadium in the city. 10K at either Campbelltown or Leichardt has atmosphere, 10k at Homebush feels empty and passionless…

We are an embarrassment if we can't pull at least 20K to each home game.

20k! Where are we going to find 20k?

Haha, lads until we get consistent results and a few problems in the home camp sorted I can't see us pulling 20k.

Small crowds in a small stadium can have atomosphere. Small crowds in a huge stadium have very little atomosphere. ….and those big stadiums sure as shit don't feel like our home grounds. Leichardt and Campbo ooze black, white and gold.
