We'll be sending our best possible team IMO, too much cash on offer not to. My team (considering reports that Simona, molten and Galloway won't be fit)

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Lawrence
4\. Korobiete
5\. Richards
6\. Austin
7\. Brooks
9\. Farah
10\. Blair
11\. Paterson
12\. Fulton
13\. Akauola
14\. Taquele

if anyone isn't sure.

there are FIVE forwards and FOUR backs in a full lineup.

I also think that depth will be very important, players will tire from the pace of the game which is will be vastly sped up and rotations between games will be important i reckon.

Best line up:

Tedesco
Koroibete
Nofoaluma
Moses/Brooks
Woods
Farah
BMM
Sue
Siro

that'd be my best lineup. But we'd rotate in Big T, Lulia, Paterson, Taupau, Luani and people like that throughout.

If we were allowed the extra player in.our best line up, we should go well.

There'll be lucky to be 3-4 regular first graders, can almost guarantee the majority most squads will comprise of mainly under 20s and NSW cup players. And Farah definitley won't play after playing in the World Cup

Considering farah helped launch the tournament (see picture above), I am almost certain he will be playing.

I doubt anyone else in our top 5 will play (so no Blair, Lawrence, woods, or Galloway)

Yeah true , but I bet our Top 5 at the end of the 2014 season is far different and that is the exciting thing

Saw some interesting comments on LU about the relation of the now defunct sevens comp to the regular season in terms of how teams go.
\
\
"Historically I seem to remember any team that was successful in this comp usually was a bottom feeder in the upcoming season."

"If you're referring to the 7s, no. Manly won it in 90, 94-95, Balmain won it in 89, Newcastle won in 96, Brisbane were runners up in 92 and St George were runners up in 91 and 94\. All of these teams finished pretty high in the ladder with Manly (95), Balmain and Brisbane going on to play in that year's grand final."

i think given the extra 2 people in 9s making it even closer to 13s, going well in this competition will boost our club immeasurably. Confidence wise, memberships, crowds etc. and it will be a great acid test for how we compare to others.

Yep that Pat Richards no try v Broncos in Brisbane cost us Top 8 that season

Even the 4 other Broncos supporters sitting with me thought it was simultaneous and should of been a try

IMO, Sharks or maybe Cowboys will be the biggest competition in this tournament. Mobile forwards like Fifita will tear it up in a competition like this, while clever players like Thurston will put players through wide holes all over the park. Its a damn shame we don't have Simona for this. He would absolutely rule with his brilliant step and ability to trick defending opposition. Actually, the irony of this is that Benji would have been perfect for this…lol the ironies of life!

Really hard to know until teams pick their squads who will be favoured

Still can't believe we are equal second favourites

Too much money on offer mate, I think the majority of teams will send their top players. Us in particular will.

I'm sure I read somewhere that clubs would have to send at least 1 of their top players with the way the clubs salary cap is structured. I think we'll be seeing Farah going over with the likes of Halatau, Austin, Paterson, Koroibete, Nofoalouma, Fulton, Lawrence, Sironen and a few others. The club and coaching staff I feel will want a good performance.
