Intrust Super Premiership Team Announcement: Round 5 vs. Jets

Tue 29th March, 04:55PM
A A

Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership Coach Paul Stringer has named his side to take on the Newtown Jets for their Round 5 match this Saturday, April 2.

Kickoff for the match is at 3:00pm AEDT at Henson Park as Wests Tigers look to extend their winning streak to three in a row and possible go top of the competition ladder, following strong wins in the past fortnight over Wyong Roos and Canterbury Bulldogs.

Wests Tigers will field a near-identical side to the one that beat the Bulldogs on Easter Saturday, with Joel Edwards moved into the starting side after an impressive performance off the bench. His inclusion in the starting side sees Dallas Graham drop back to the bench alongside fellow U/20's graduates Tyler Cassel, Lamar Liolevave and Jeremy Marshall-King.

See Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership team named to take on Newtown this week below.

Don't miss Saturday afternoon footy in Campbelltown as we take on the Sharks!

That must be the longest run of first names starting with J in league history. Speaking of which Jesse Parihi seems to have vanished completely.

Does anybody know what's happened to Parahi?

Good side, at full strength they're premiership material IMO if they're in a non nonsense mood..

Most likely just another one of his niggling injuries. So far he's missed the 9's, every trial and nearly all nsw cup games this season due to injury. All up he'd have played about 60-70 mins of footy at any level this calendar year.

He's a long way off…. Needs to get his body right before even thinking about playing.

Apparently coverage of the game on Steele Sports Radio (Link available via [www.steelesports.com.au](http://www.steelesports.com.au))

Leading 10-8 after 20 minutes.

This is a bit of a scheduling stuff up isn't it…
Would have been a good chance to have all 3 grades on at Campbelltown if it was our home game.

Newtown are the sharks' feeder team as well… Strange that the game wasn't played at campbelltown before either holden cup or first grade

That's what I mean.
Seems like a bit of an oversight by whoever made the draw.

That's not a good scoreline, we need blokes performing well in the 2nd's to put pressure on our top side…..then again some blokes will never lose their spot in 1st grade no matter how poorly they are playing. It has been that way at our club for plenty of years unfortunately.

Just got home from the Jets v TIgers. Jets were good , Tigers not so much but a couple of players were still good for mine (although was chatting and drinking too).

Joel Edwards was good and kept going all day when on. He is FG quality
Chance Peni was good in the centres
Helata looked dangerous when he had the ball and was solid at the back and defence when he got the chance

JAC was poor - he may be quick but his defence and his hands are average - First time i've seen him in the flesh and he shouldn't replace Rankin. The only thing to his advantage is Milone was inside him and he is rubbish.

Forwards were poor and anyone who thinks Griffin deserves to be in FG - Sorry Nope just doesn't have it

The team seems very hot and cold.

Most of the forward pack plus Heleta, Peni and JAC have been pretty reliable all season. But they are a young side too so will have ups and downs.
