Wests Tigers sign Blair, Reddy and Bell

Bell looks like a stop gap only signed for 12 months ,IMO the club is trying to turn the culture around not a bad idea and he is a Prop.

all of a sudden 2012 is looking bright again & now the current crop can knuckle down & hopefully make 2011 a great year

I'll await further divisions in the camp to come to the surface now, now that we have signed a plodder like Bell. What a waste of our salary cap

I bet he's on less than half of what Gibbs was getting paid. That is the point.

I will wait until he plays a few games for us before I cast a judgement. I thought Utai was a crap signing and a waste of money, look how that turned out.

Do you know who the last prop we signed was before Jason Cayless? Galloway and O'Hara in 2006.

It is about time we signed a prop.

Yes thats right.

Its about time i hope maybe 1 more prop if we can afford it

Does that include the discount Gibbs would have received in a year or two? What a shame the club allowed Gibbs to leave and miss the opportunity to play 10 years with one club. I could bear a young bloke coming through, but to replace Gibbs with an older player is just disgraceful.

Utai was a crap signing. He cannot defend to save his life.

I bet Bell would still get less than Gibbs even with his discount.

Utai has his issues but was a great buy considering he is playing for peanuts. Runs harder than some of our forwards, including Gibbs.

Bell has made more metres in the past few weeks than Gibbs and Fifita combined and played less minutes.

He has played under big Petro as well. Hopefully he brings some of that professionalism with him because I am damn sure I want guys live Groat, Begovich etc to learn of a Matt Bell than a Bryce Gibbs or Andrew Fifita

These signings offer balance, something the Tigers need with the departure of numerous players. Reddy is no rocket, but he's good defensively and the Tigers could use some help out wide in this regard.

I await with interest if there are any more signings to be announced…Perhaps Daniel Vidot may be next?

Hope we dont see too much of this….

Positive signings by the club. I'd love to see Reddy at fullback. Quick, strong and safe under the highball. I think thats what we signed him as.

You seem to have an axe to grind with Gibbs. You constantly bring it up

Gibbs Bell anyday
Would've loved if we kept Gibbs, but he was probably asking for too much.

Gibbs had already been resigned. What ever it was he asked for had already been given.
So it obviously wasnt too much in the clubs opinion at the time….

Ye..
IDK wtf happened, with all these signings till 2013 and what not..
I personally rate Gibbs as one of the best props in the comp
and the best defensive prop for sure.

backend of last year, he was flying and he played a couple of great games this year as well

That's actually some really good stats! I'm a little excited now by getting Bell on board.

He has also been a more effective Tackler than Gibbs, and made less errors. I was quite surprised about both of those stats. I think it's a smart decision, given we need an experienced prop, and someone who is a bit cheaper than Gibbs or Fifita.

Some statistics:

Reddy

Blair

Hello Bug…..Where are you?

Blair, Reddy & Bell>>>>>>>>>>Gibbs, Fifita & Moltzen as a package......EASY
Who knows, maybe 1 or 2 more to come

Personally, I think a player like Bell will be great VALUE (Performance wise & $$$$ wise) for us. Hits it up hard, mature player & the 1 year deal should have him firing, looking for another year or two with us.

Blair-enough said; Quality
Reddy- Very handy indeed.

Just need a fullback, an established prop and possibly a halfback and we'll have a competitive side for next year. Reddy should slot in on the wing, and can cover the centres, Bell is another experienced prop to pair up with Galloway and help mentor these younger front rowers we have, and Blair is a world class player and gives our pack someone to fear. Honestly the likelihoodof a Blair/Ellis/Hino/Dwyer back row combination is awesome.

Galloway
Farah
Bell
Ellis
Blair
Hino

Dwyer
Woods
Groat/Begovich/Murdoch
Miller/Lui/Fulton

very nice
