I personally like these signings. I wasn't expecting much after Mayer has clearly stated that we won't be going after any big name players until 2015.

Both add something to the squad.

Patterson will add some much needed impact and grunt. Mostly we are a happy club and I hope all the blokes bond with him and ensure he is looked after. Going through ramadan does worry me though - the bloke is going to be enhausted! But if he struggles, we have the depth for him to sit out for 4 weeks.

Austin will add some great depth and there is the added benefit of unlocking a potential weapon!

Both wouldn't have cost the world but fill necessary holes. Great signings in my opinion!

Pat Richards would have to be first choice surely.

Patterson is a good signing very happy about that ,reckon he could be our key signing ,guessing we probably have a one year option as well

Austin however in my opinion is a fringe first grader and if we were taking the risk with him ,I just as quick take the risk with Moses

Sorry was not pin pointing you, just did not plan what I originally planned on writing. I think Moses would not last in Firsts due to his size. Austin is much bigger, and I doubt Moses's defence is up to it.

Have just finished watching the HKR v Wigan game on Fox and Patterson was out. Apparently hasn't played the last couple of weeks either. Anyone have any recent info on him.
Hoping it's not an injury.
PS. Richards was out for Wigan as well.

One player facing a spell on the sidelines though is second rower Cory Paterson, who limped off with a knee injury.

Doesn't sound like Austin would necessarily do any better than Sirro at 5/8 next year. Sirro was doing ok in the halves for mine - anything for some consistency.

Patterson also.

Mason had "baggage" and we didn't want to sign him, came back and killed it.
Patterson will impress no doubt, who cares who he rolls with outside of footy as long as he's putting in on the field.
